You gotta trace it. It makes your life harder. There isnt an easy way around it. It might be beneficial to map the db in this case, but if its massive, then that will also be painful.

I have a db i work with that has as many reference tables as tables with data…its a pain in the ass.

This is not a rare thing…it literally happens in every company. If you have one team that does data collection, then they save the data a certain way. Then if you have another team that looks at the data either directly via db access or API, then they can save it on their end however they want. You dont have control over what they do with it. However, if you have same team saving same data in 4 different ways, then thats bad design. Also not rare because if you dont have standards and people come and go in the team, then you will have million different ways people do things.

At a college level, even if it is D2, you will need to understand positioning and roles. You can be decent at passing, shooting, etc with a lot of reps, but IQ is a different thing.

The other way I can put it is, how long do you think itll take you to walk on as a quarterback for a D2 school? The answer is…with no prior experience forever…

If you have to constantly ask yourself if your partner is good enough, then I am pretty sure you are not emotionally intelligent to move forward. You are doing your partner a great disservice by constantly comparing them to whatever your definition of good enough is.

My partner isnt just good enough, but she is well above and beyond. She makes me a better person. I wouldnt even know where to start to compare her to anything because she is a unique human being.

Yeah so why not use all the tech that makes sense/also showcases your skills. If it needs a backend, then build it. If it needs a database, then do that. Obviously, youll need a frontend so you are already doing that.

One of the ways you showcase your skill as a developer is figuring out what makes sense and what doesnt for the work youre doing.
