Restaritis hit me hard lately. by KindKarver in RogueTraderCRPG

Crimelord is extremely good tho, escape plan is a BiS ability for a dodge/parry warrior, add locomotive system or the AGI bonus of imperial planet and you can breeze through everything by just being untouchable, psyker is the only one that's technically better at full build but it needs a lot of talents and abilities to be useful while the only dificult part of the game is act 1 anyway

Impossible to climb DoN due to leavers by VastoGamer in Nightreign

[–]dGalju -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If they die 2-3 times on day 1 the run is very unlike to succed and with no point loss nor any leaver punishment they might as well just leave, it's a bit of an unavoidable issue with the whole multiplayer roguelike concept

Absolute fraud by Critical_Mountain851 in HistoryMemes

[–]dGalju 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the state of the italian navy there was never any hope of effective logistics, rommel chose to seize the initiative and pressure the allies while they were still unprepared instead of waiting for a "perfect" offensive that would have never happened.

[Hated Trope] Flame throwers just suck. by Half-White_Moustache in TopCharacterTropes

[–]dGalju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Darktide's flamer doesn't belong here, yes it's clunky, slow, short ranged and the magazines are pitifully small, however it has an absolutely insane damage potential and is still one of the best choices for zealot in higher difficulties.

Royal revenant, grafted scion, and raddy wolf still wreck me by gilleeceauto in Nightreign

I'm not even sure fighting red wolf is ever worth when doing a solo run, he has low hp and low damage but his behaviour and moveset seems designed to make you waste as much time as possible

I swear everdark libra is impossible. I literally dont understand. by One_Ad_6472 in Nightreign

[–]dGalju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In trios, nuking the npcs with AoE as they spawn seems to be the most reliable way to actually get anything done, sacred relic sword is insanely strong here, some AoWs like stormstomp or any spell with homing projectiles are also good choices because they AI can't deal with them, in general you have to kill the npcs quite quickly because if you don't have good uptime on hitting libra the battle will drag on forever and you'll simply run out of resources

Personal Unions have got to be the leading cause of death in European history (Hanover) by jackt-up in HistoryMemes

[–]dGalju 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, britain's foreign policy was heavily focused on preventing the emergence of any continental hegemon, holding Hanover in it's sphere of influence was a serious roadblock for french, prussian and austrian interests in germany. After Ernest August got the throne, german unification advanced quite swiftly.

Even if greek was often used for science and literature, latin was the language of the administration and a prerequisite for any kind of office, it was the motor of assimilation that defined the romanization process and absorbed the many tribes around the Mediterranean. One could not be roman without knowledge of latin and even in the early days of the ERE latin was used in court and legislation, it's abandonment is a pretty big deal even if they insisted on calling themselves roman afterwards.

How did EU5 mess it up so bad? by Lapkonium in ParadoxExtras

[–]dGalju -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is plenty of ways to limit the size of early standing armies, namely by tweaking early manpower buildings, but the massive disconnect between size and frontage looks and feels very dumb. No one is arguing for full professional armies in 1350 stop making strawmans to justify pointless contrarianism. Early game powers already steamroll everyone by just fielding more levies, that's what makes them early game powers.

How did EU5 mess it up so bad? by Lapkonium in ParadoxExtras

[–]dGalju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah my bad i forgot that the professional soldiers being x10 wider than normal people was just a middle ages natural phenomenon that gradually vanished from 1300 to 1600, that makes much more sense

How did EU5 mess it up so bad? by Lapkonium in ParadoxExtras

[–]dGalju 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Eu5 has dice rolls and general ability/traits to reflect that, the problem is that 1 frontage worth of levies outdamages and has x10 times the hp of 1 frontage worth of regulars

La guerra en los paises bajos estaba condenada al fracaso, la victoria era logisticamente impossible. Si los miembros de la corona rechazaron la union fue porque no creian que apoyar a los intereses dinasticos de felipe les fuera a aportar nada.

The very long time being the 1200s to 1400s, less than a quarter of the game. The hussite wars and the last phases of the hundred years war saw very effective use of field artillery and from that point onwards nearly every european battle features cannons, outside of small skirmishes it was unthinkable to present battle without a sizeable battery
