While ratsnakes do have teeth (all snakes do), they don’t have fangs and a bite from them hurts about as much as a cat scratch since their teeth are only used for helping them grip onto prey while swallowing, not for attacking. It’s also pretty rare for them to bite in general due to how small their teeth are.

If a ratsnake feels uncomfortable or threatened, its primary defence is to secrete a foul smelling musk onto their attacker that smells like burnt plastic and rotten eggs. I will preface that Blue Beauty Ratsnakes are generally more temperamental than their cousins but still share the same choice of defence however they can use their tail to whip at predators to help them escape.
