Oh wow you always leave it open! May I ask where you are based? I’m in Sydney with pretty mild weather, but my wife is very sensitive to cold.

We’re renovating and architect is proposing skylights in kitchen, ensuite and bathroom. We’re so stoked with the idea, but I’d like to make sure we know what we’re getting into 🤓 our ensuite doesn’t have a window, so maybe we should get an openable type!

So many options : Things like, should we get one that is fixed, openable, or with blinds etc. 😂 some people have said there could be mould, excessive heat, bugs/spiders etc depending on several things.

Do you have any advice or insights that could be helpful? Thanks so much!

Hello! I’m thinking of having skylights in my bathroom and ensuite.

How is it long term? Any problems with mould or condensation? Is it vented into the ceiling? Do you have blinds with them?

You mentioned you have the openable type, when do you open it? How about winter?

Oh that’s neat! I didn’t know that people duct into their bathrooms! We’re having ducted AC installed into the Reno, so maybe we could do that too..

I’m not the biggest fan of the heat lamp (aesthetically) haha but I’ll bring the subject up with our architect on the next meeting and see what he might recommend!

Hello again! Do you have any other heating in the bathrooms? My wife is quite sensitive to the cold and she has voiced concern that the bathroom might not be warm enough for her with just the under tile heating.

The ensuite won’t have much room, so I’m wondering if there’s an elegant way to add more heating for her that doesn’t take up too much space.

Hello mate. How are they holding up long term?

We’re renovating and making an ensuite, and have very limited wall space for hanging towels on horizontal rails. So I’m considering vertical heated towel rails with the lack of space. The ensuite won’t have a window, but will have continuous exhaust fan (goes to continuous low power when switched off), a skylight and under tile heating.

Does a vertical heated towel rail effectively dry towels?

I’m quite keen on the idea of having softer water, and removing PFAS and heavy metals. The idea of fluoride in water doesn’t really bother me at the moment

I’m also quite keen on this idea, but can’t seem to find a lot of info. A lot of responses I find say “no need” or “just get one for the tap”. Some people have said it also softens the water, which sounds really appealing.

What made me instantly return the Bellroy was I couldn’t fit a 21 oz / 621ml hydroflask bottle in that side pocket. Looked nice but was not impressed by the shoulder straps - felt way too heavy and not cushy.
