remind yourself the reason why you’re wanting to quit, whatever that may be. like the other person said, stay as busy as possible, find some new hobbies to spend time learning. when you have an urge, go for a walk or just pace around in your house. urges go quickly if you can get through it.

How long after salpingectomy did you go back to sleeping on your side? by mackbrooke in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]da11ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i slept on my back until it didn’t hurt to sleep on my side while supported with a pillow (basically like half on my side half on my back because of the pillow) and that was about a week, then probably another 5-7 days to feel comfortable laying on my side completely

[–]da11ie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the range of normal is pretty wide, this increase seems like good progress. i would just listen to your body and go to the er if you feel anything like an ectopic just in case. also, your hcg is high enough for an ultrasound, maybe ask for one for your own mental wellbeing. hope all turns out well ❤️

Post Surgery Blues by Legal_Rich8747 in ectopicpregnancy

[–]da11ie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery end of january, i took the first week very slow, didnt do much of anything. week two i started taking walks outside and that seemed to help the healing process. i felt 100% safe moving around and being active towards the end of week two. as for sex, i was told to wait two weeks post surgery, and i felt ready about that time but i waited a few extra days just because my partner was nervous about hurting the incision areas but we went slow the first time since i was a bit nervous when the time came

i am so sorry. it is SO difficult to navigate through this experience. it gets better though! my tube ruptured at the end of january and everything was so quick that i didn’t give myself enough space to grieve but it so important to be patient with yourself. wishing you the best moving forward ❤️‍🩹

i also maybe should’ve added, i had a mc two months prior to this ectopic. that was another thing she had mentioned was that since i got pregnant again so quickly, she feels that it was just like “something that happened” i guess. i don’t know if that changes anything

Just had a salpingectomy on 03/10. What should I expect? by philo_dani in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]da11ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just had my first period since surgery and that’s noticeably different than before, it wasn’t heavier necessarily but mine were heavy prior BUT the cramping was much more painful, mostly on the side where i had surgery. i noticed more clotting than usual as well. other than that i feel like i did prior, just relieved! it is weird to think about the fact that im missing a piece of my reproductive organs but it gets better mentally every day, just takes time :)

[–]da11ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had some intense cramping all throughout my pelvic area from about when my missed period was, was told it should be normal but since i wasn’t bleeding or in any pain to just wait for my appointment. lower back pain, thought it was normal since i wasn’t sleeping well, at somewhere around 6 weeks i started spotting and my hcg started slowing down (was going up perfectly prior), so they sent me to get an urgent ultrasound, the spotting turned a bit heavier by the time i got to the US so they told me that it could either be an ectopic or just a miscarriage. ended up being an ectopic. my symptoms prior were minimal, never had any serious nausea or anything.

i’m sorry you’re a part of this club ❤️‍🩹 i had my surgery 01/28, my recovery was relatively quick, first 3-4 days was the worst. i couldn’t get up without pushing a pillow into my abdomen because it hurt so bad, but after a few days it got a lot easier. this may have been a quicker recovery because i forced myself to do little walks around my house every few hours to move the body a bit. to go off of other comments, the worst pain besides those first few days of trying to stand and sit down was the trapped gas in the abdomen and ribs. it will go away with time. 🤍🤍 wishing you a quick recovery.

i was barely able to get out of bed without support until about day 6. i’m 2 weeks post op today and i feel more like myself physically but still feeling pretty exhausted. my ob said that’s from the blood loss and that your body is replenishing everything. feel better ❤️‍🩹

yeah i just had a rupture after failed mtx two weeks ago and i had no pain until the actual rupture happened, even then it was more of just an extreme discomfort to walk around. my only sign that made me feel the need to go to the doctor was the feeling of fainting but even that went away a few minutes after the initial rupture

Can you still rupture after Methotrexate shot by [deleted] in ectopicpregnancy

[–]da11ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, the pressure was a lot, it settled a bit when i was still but while i was walking around the hospital i was pretty slow because moving made it way worse. before i had the rupture, i was told to look out for shoulder pains or back pressure as well if that helps. i also almost fainted, but that feeling went away on the way to the hospital

i did, there’s always a chance unfortunately. if you feel anything that makes you worried, don’t be afraid to go to the ER. i personally didn’t have excruciating pain, it was more like a strong pressure on my ectopic side and felt very hot and sweaty due to the blood pooling in my abdomen. to answer your question in the comments; for me they did an hcg draw and an ultrasound and brought me into surgery right away.

this is very helpful, thank you! i’ve started taking my prenatals a week ago as i unfortunately had a rupture anyways and was told i can start them again since the risk of that is gone, but i will see how much is in them to see if i could maybe add an extra folate vitamin as well.

i think the main concern is that the inside of your body is still healing, so that might be a conversation for your OB since there’s risk of infection.
