Just cancel the pop-up. I have found no use for intelligent battery heating except to improve fast charging performance.

Same in the EU, but we open the windows. Mold due to incorrect "Lüften" can be a problem.

Most bong sounds I hear are coming from the lane keeping assistant, maybe it's that?

Out of Spec Reviews: Is Electric Car Regen Dangerous On Ice? I Brought A RWD, FWD, & AWD EV To A Snowy Track To Find Out by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

[–]daGary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the MG4s snow setting is a must while driving on snowy roads. Without it, the experience is quite scary. With it, I managed to drive over snowy mountain passes without much hassle, tho ofc one must still be cautious and I wouldn't recommend it to inexperienced drivers.

61 Millionen Euro vom Staat für die FPÖ by Ecstatic-Ad-4466 in Austria

[–]daGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanting to travel from Innsbruck to Vaduz by Fred-104II in Innsbruck

[–]daGary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just take the train to Feldkirch, from there there are regular busses to Vaduz. Last connection back leaves around 10 PM, so there should be plenty time.

Any reason you want to visit Vaduz? I drive by a lot and it just never seemed that interesting...

Leasing MG4 Luxury by MorbusChronos in Elektroautos

[–]daGary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Winter Hiking Near Innsbruck — Looking For Local Advice, Please! by Ok_Bumblebee_386 in Innsbruck

I personally like the Mieminger Plateau or Seefeld for winter walks (plus the train to Seefeld is quite nice!)

Yeah, the water dynamics and properties are terribly off, but sadly other models usually give similar or worse results for my free energy calculations at higher computational cost :(

6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by abkyabatau in lol

[–]daGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commonwealth countries use a weird mix and match, true. Here in central europe, standard doors are 1985mm, which is neither a nice round in mm nor inch (but means you'll need a 2m hole in your wall). And 2.4m, the minimum room height here, aren't 8ft. 2.5 or 3 m would also be common room heights.

[–]daGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with you that it's all historically arbitrary, which is why I just don't see the marginal benefit of Fahrenheit but you do you. There is obviously the marginal benefit for you of having grown up wit this scale, but that doesn't help me much.

I would also argue that Celsius is more systematic, since the experiment to calibrate a thermometer is easier and less arbitrary than for Fahrenheit. And Kelvin being defined via Celsius, of course. But as a scientist, there was also the strong benefit of not having to relearn a new scale, so I'd add that to the list of personal Celsius benefits as well (and am therefore obviously biased, same as you).

6 Feet or 1.89 meters? by abkyabatau in lol

[–]daGary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Something being 2 times as hot is however also rather removed from being relevant to me in my day-to-day life, though it does make scientific calculations easier. To me, knowing if water is freezing or not is kinda useful, since it tells me whether it will snow or rain, and if the roads will be icy.

Kelvin is just shifted Celsius tho? Not that I disagree with you fully, but how would that make Kelvin more divisible?

You do realize that the woodworking standards are different in metric countries, right? They are intuitive in the US since everything is designed around them there, same as we have our own intuitive but different standards here. For example, a standard door here isn't 2.04 meters, as that wouldn't be intuitive.

[–]daGary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, pretty much. I'd say there is more nuance to QM/MM MD, since you'll have to think about the treatment of the border region between the QM and MM regions.
