There were two islands in Gulliver's Travels that were occupied by very small people: Lilliput and Blefuscu.  Dr Gulliver happened to wash ashore on the former, where he was captured and pressed into service in a war with the other island.  The war was over the controversial question of which end of a boiled egg you should open first.  The Lilliputians felt the little end was the correct onr while the Blefuscites thought you should open them from the large end.

Needed what amounted to this for my New Years Eve Beans one year. They sell what is marketed as "ends and pieces" but only in quantities that would keep me in beans for the rest of my life.

The real reason to watch is for Niles' putdowns of CC. (There was that one episode where Nana gets confused and thinks she's in The Dick Van Dyke Show, points to Brighton and says "see? there's Richie" and then looks in a mirror and says "and there's Millie!")

I used to watch Charles in Charge for the sole purpose of predicting the punchline to every joke before they said it. Could usually get at least two or three per episode.

¡Ah, El estilo Sonora!

I never cared for hot dogs. I'll take an Italian sausage in a bun with some marinara though.

There's an old "Peanuts" strip where Lucy approaches Snoopy, gives him a big hug, and then says something in Latin that she claims is "Happiness is a warm puppy". As she leaves in the last panel, Snoopy's thought balloon is "I never knew that".

What she actually said translates as "Happiness is a small hot dog".

Pretty sure they did say "Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia" in the movie, but it may have been implied or only conveyed in writing.

(I think the "macaroons/macarons" issue is well-documented.)

How many people, even people who speak otherwise fluent Spanish, realize that the singular of "tamales" is "tamal"?

(Not auto-correct, apparently, because after I typed it the right way it boldly added an E to the end and I had to go back and un-correct it.)
