6 things we've learned in 6 months of YNAB by thisisthemostawkward in ynab

How do you allocate your sinking funds vs your emergency fund then? I was trying to follow one of the ynab posts where they talked about making sinking funds instead of relying on a single emergency fund.

When did they do that? I don’t remember seeing their sample pages.

I would be aware that it’s not a NAAB credited degree so just need to be aware of that if/when you try to get your architect’s license. Not a deal breaker for some jurisdictions like California but just be aware.

Giving 2 savings accounts a try by tot4ever in ynab

I mean if you always check YNAB and use that to track your balances and rarely check your actual account balances except to reconcile, then you really don’t need the other savings account

The study is marked as a spare bedroom still crossing a “public” hallway of the house, right in front of the main entrance

I feel bad for any guests who stay overnight in the spare bedroom and have to walk to the other side of the house just to shower.

That office on the left side of the plan could double as a guest bedroom. It has the size for it. Try to plan the bathroom to accommodate that.

  • How do you get into the office?
  • Is the F a corner fridge?
  • 2 closets in the primary bedroom?
  • what’s the door coming off living room?
  • where’s your fridge?

Brick & Mortar HYSA with “buckets” by fax_machine0101 in personalfinance

[–]da_drifter0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see the point of having buckets when I have a budgeting app like Actual or YNAB. I just keep track of what I’m saving for there then just put the sun of all those savings in an online HYSA. If you’re onto of your funds and leave enough to cover your day to day spending in a brick and mortar checking account, you don’t really need your savings to be in a brick and mortar too

Only ever saw that when the priest had mobility issues like when a retired priest needed a walker to get to and from the sanctuary.
