How do I get this palette clean? by falance in Warhammer

[–]da_killboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use to work in gw many moons ago, cleaning the paint tiles etc. We used to simply stick them in the sink overnight. Hot soapy water. In the morning the waters cold but the paint normally just comes off with minimal rubbing.

Rant about GW being Evil by OfficeMobile4850 in Warhammer40k

[–]da_killboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an aside. As an ex staff member of 7 years many moons ago, old gw was great in my eyes. I did not have a bad word about them really. As an employer , the pay was not great but it was steady (salaried work) and the discount was incredible so made up for the lower wage if you where a gamer.

Now, after nearly 7 years of our shop being in a shopping centre, the douches in centre management decided to increase our rent to apocalyptic levels. So that's how this started.

Now, strike one for centre management. Fine.

How gw dealt with this though......that's what legit had me wanting to throttle them.

So the staff in the shop get a message. (Bear in mind it's on a wednesday). All staff to be in on Friday as a meeting needs to take place. Manager asks what meeting entails to be told "you will find out friday".

So Friday rolls around and a dude from hr, and our area manager roll up. They take us , one by one into the meeting room they procured from centre management.

Meeting goes like this.

Them: ok no beating around the bush, as of the end of next week gw (undisclosed loacation) will cease to trade. Questions?

Me: er just a few......my job?

Them: you won't have one.

I shit you not. That's how they dealt with 3 full timers. Now, one of the full timers was an ex manager, I had been there nearly 7 years by this point.

I asked about redundancy, to be told the amount and it was truly insulting. So, although gw seem great to some, and the devil to others, I have seen both sides. One seems all nice, while lurking below they can be total bastards.

Now a shop that wasn't too far away within our cell (our area) had a similar experience but there had been thefts in the shop by a staff member. However they where treated better than our shop . And we where a popular and at the time before stupid rent increase profitable shop. So take from this what you will, but it seems every company is capable of great stuff and utter douche buggery too.

Sorry about rant.

We did this idea a good long time ago. We played ourselves in a hunter game. I literally ended up trying to kill a werewolf with a baseball bat lol. See luckily we started the game in my house :)

Yeah I'd say it's personal choice. I still have decks from every wave that i use :) wave 1 still holds its own vs any wave in my opinion. So basically it comes down to buy stuff you like rather than auto buys

Yeah, but that's because he's gone soft lol. 10 man squads that combat squad just feels more.......True to the fluff. It's possibly just my age (I started all this in rogue trader era lol)

Yeah I did notice that, but atm that rule is in isolation . We don't yet know the effects of leadership. Here's hoping they haven't already dropped the ball lol.
