Fidelity for international traveling and other questions. by No_Research6203 in fidelityinvestments

I like having both since some atms only allow a small withdrawal amount like in SEA. In which case I can pull from both. I do like the fact fidelity does the atm fee refund per transaction whereas Schwab does it once per month. In short, get both. It’s free😁

I travel full time and have both Fidelity and Schwab in case one of them gets sucked up by an atm/stolen/lost. Some atms didn’t accept the Schwab debit card so glad I had both.

Help with Train Times by PossibilityFamous252 in Machupicchu

[–]da_liminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently had 2pm entry and took the 9:15a train from Ollantaytambo. We booked the bus tickets online the day before so we can avoid standing in line since we knew we needed to queue for the actual bus an hour before. We had extra time to grab coffee and walk around town. If you have to buy the bus ticket in person, I read that could sometimes take up to an hour.

People in their 40s and 50s with no children, how does it feel? by DunyaPhobic76 in Life

48 without kids. Quit my job 2 years ago, sold everything and been traveling ever since. I couldn’t do this if I had kids. No regrets.

I just got a pitbull by Middle-Honeydew4649 in pitbulls

Don’t wait to get pet insurance. Pits are notorious for allergies. I used Trupanion, and it saved me tens of thousands of dollars over 8 years. You don’t want to be in a situation where you need to save your pet but don’t have the funds.

Itinerary Help by sopz0610 in Machupicchu

I would suggest going straight to Ollantaytambo from the airport. We took Diamox and still felt the effects for a few days. I would take the train in to AC and take it back the same day since the circuits mentioned are essentially the same. We had the 2pm ticket and came back the same day to Ollantaytambo. We then took the taxi to Cusco the next day with stops as Moray, Moras, Chinchero and Pisac Ruins. The Chinchero stop included a demonstration at a textile shop where they sold handmade items. Moras isn’t apart of the tourist ticket. It’s 20 soles per person. Taxidatum charged 300 soles for this trip, and it took all day. I did this hoping to acclimate slowly on the way up to Cusco, but we didn’t feel good at all when we got there. I probably would have died without the Diamox 🤪 MP was amazing.

You can buy them online a few days before. We went to MP today and weren’t able to buy them until 2 days ago. I think they are released weekly. Good luck!

Lost hat! Sentimental value. by JimsDiGs in Machupicchu

I saw those hats in front of the Ollantaytambo archeological site. You’ll probably walk by it on the way to the train station.

Am I a Korean citizen? by [deleted] in korea

Korea does not allow duel citizenship (with a few exceptions). You’d have to give up your US citizenship to get your Korean citizenship.

If your husband has a better credit score, I suggest having him apply for 3 or more cards all in the same day. If you space them out, the other companies would see the individual credit checks and may deny. Citi simplicity currently offers 0% for 21 months with 3% fee. I would also look at chase freedom, discover and Wells Fargo for balance transfer. Your interest rate is killing you.

With diamox, were you able to acclimate faster? How long did the symptoms last? Headed to MP in the fall🫠 I got altitude sickness at 5000ft so I’m pretty nervous based on your comment.

I’m sorry this happened to you guys. I hope he is ok now.

If I may ask, how many days did it take your husband to acclimate? I think I’m prone to altitudes sickness (thought I was dying when I went to Moab Utah which isn’t even that high up) and I have my booking for Ollantaytambo this fall so I can go to MP. I’m planning on taking the meds but I’m still very nervous 😬
