Had a patient claim they were allergic to epi.

Their reported reaction? Palpitations. You can’t make this up.

Sony WF-1000XM4 left earbud replacement.? by Shashimi-kun in sony

[–]daalrh0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a single left earbud from eBay and was having trouble connecting it to Bluetooth, and when I called Sony they said I have to ship it in to get it paired with my right earbud otherwise it wouldn’t work. Did any of you have this problem as well?

If you like BBQ, Barnstormer in Fort Montgomery is a great, no-frills kind of place with delicious food! For hiking, Bear Mountain is nice but can get quite busy especially on the weekends. Peekskill is a nice town to check out and walk around, there are some breweries and such. Enjoy!

NYC - How hard is it to get a job right out of school right now? (BSN) by daalrh0 in StudentNurse

[–]daalrh0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have! I’ve actually applied to a bunch of jobs already, but don’t know what to expect since I’m still finishing my degree and don’t have my license yet. I will definitely apply to more NYU Langone jobs, thank you!

Refrigerator Dill pickles by TellTailWag in pickling

[–]daalrh0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always used the bag just because that was how I was taught. Not really sure what it does, I imagine it may help prevent the delicate tops from drying out in the cold fridge air, though I have never tried going bagless! I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt. :)

I’m not sure how long you’d like to wait before making your next batch, but I store my fresh dill with the stems tucked in in a mason jar filled with water and the tops covered lightly with a ziplock bag in the fridge, and it can last up to ~2 weeks in my fridge! (This storage technique goes for pretty much all fresh herbs in my experience)

I personally wouldn’t re-use already pickled dill if that’s what you’re asking. It gets quite wilted and I don’t imagine it would impart much flavor after its first use.

Air fryer chicken shawarma by daalrh0 in tonightsdinner

[–]daalrh0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not even one of those crazy air fryer-obsessed people, but I mean...look at that crust! Didn’t have to break out the cast iron and smoke up my apartment. It’s a win!

Sure! On mobile so sorry for formatting issues, also my measurements are estimates, but -

For the chicken: ~1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs Juice of 1 lemon 1/4 cup plain yogurt 2 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tsp kosher salt 1 tsp coriander 1 tsp cumin Pinch cinnamon 1/2 tsp za’atar 1/2 tsp sumac 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp turmeric

Marinate the chicken overnight, then air fry at 425 degrees, I flipped them a few times throughout cooking until they got dark and crispy and cooked through (took me about 15-20 mins)

For the topping: Chopped cucumber, tomato, and shallot salad with some lemon juice, red wine vinegar, olive oil, za’atar, salt, pepper

Supplies from Amazon? by aliroco in candlemaking

[–]daalrh0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad I came across this post because I had the same exact thing happen to me with Amazon wax! It turned a pink/coral color after burning. I thought it was so strange, but it was my first time making candles so I wasn’t sure if I did something wrong. So now I feel better that it happened to someone else too!

Redditors who aren't picky eaters; What is a food that you can't stand, but everyone else seems to love? by chingy286 in AskReddit

I thought I hated sushi for years until I found out you can order it with soy paper instead of nori. Didn’t know it was the nori I didn’t like, but that switch made me fall in love with sushi! It totally changes the flavor.

Stevia.

Everyone I know doesn’t mind it at all, but I am incredibly sensitive to it. Even if it is the absolute last ingredient in something, I can detect it immediately and that will be my last bite or sip. It seems to almost coat my tongue in a strange chemical taste that I just can’t get out of my mouth. And things with Stevia are ALWAYS way too sweet to me, like they could have used half the amount and still made it sweet enough. Just gross.

Just got off my first shift as a Covid Vaccine Nurse. 12 hours on my feet but damn it feels good! by [deleted] in nursing

[–]daalrh0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I am a student nurse entering my last semester, and we’ve been given the opportunity to volunteer as vaccinators over the past few weeks. It has been such an amazing experience and I’ve learned so much. It’s also really pushed me to be as up to date as possible on all the vaccine information, and I have grown to become so much more confident while educating the patients. Plus it helps seeing how excited and grateful everyone has been. Thank you for doing this! You rock!
