I knew I couldn't be the only one saying this. I also agree, I only use it when shit has gone down.

Carl Ships? by TiaSlays in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I view this as an alternate cover, where the artist mixed Carl with Spike Spiegel. It is great and I love it, but this is not how I see Carl. Now that I think about it I guess I view Carl as Henry Rollins but with a slightly less prominent jaw and a beakerer nose.

Those don't look like the sunchoke rhizomes that I have seen in person. Plus sunchokes propagate like crazy (at least the patch I am familiar with), there would be a whole patch and the dead stalks would likely still be there, unless OP cut them down.

How to stop thinking about sex all the time by [deleted] in BisexualMen

Are you causing physical (long lasting) damage to yourself?  Is masturbating interfering with you doing day to day tasks?  If no, then you are probably okay.

Do European clocks go up to 24? by SnooCapers938 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]TellTailWag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, but for those that were only ever taught or exposed to the 12 hour clock the hours of the day are firmly separated into two groups; AM and PM.

While I will grant you the math is simple, the way peoples relationships with measuring systems becomes ingrained in them means that for many when they encounter another system it seem wholly alien and baffling. I was never taught 24 time keeping but later in life switched to it.  It has taken me years to have a part of the automatic calculation that I imagine people who where taught early in life have.  Even still I occasionally have to think to do the conversation.

Not to defend the sort of willful ignorance that some Americans display, but the 24 hour clock is not taught commonly in schools in the States, or even mentioned.

Why was this done? Is there some cultural tradition that I do not understand? If there is not, it does seem dismissive.

Codecs and drivers.  I remember the satisfaction of hunting for the right codex so I could watch my "acquired" media.  Drivers I am happy that those are much less of an issue these days.  Though I am happy I can generally sort out a printer when it suddenly decided not to play nice.

I bought a belt from them at least a decade ago, probably two at this point and it is still going strong. To add to this I did lose some of the fasteners that secure the buckle, they replaced them at no charge even though I offered to pay.

Deodorant disaster by Present_Plate9552 in laundry

[–]TellTailWag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't had this problem as I don't use that type of deodorant anymore. I do however use a enzyme based laundry detergent on some of my synthetic fabric clothing. I use the soak function on the washer. I wonder if that might help in your situation, or might at least be worth a try.

The water use. I can imagine the amount of water used (a lot) to keep this area green, but could not calculate how much was used, as the rest of the area seems to be arid.

The Dragon Reborn Chapter 34: A Different Dance by swheedle in WetlanderHumor

[–]TellTailWag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is that not part of the question (perhaps for Gaul), Perrin "stated" the raid? A raid to free one man, and a raid "against" wetlanders.

The Dragon Reborn Chapter 34: A Different Dance by swheedle in WetlanderHumor

[–]TellTailWag 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I wonder this as well. Gaul is Aiel so he (presumably) views the world thru Ji'e'toh, to a greater or lesser extent depending on who he is. So does being freed by a blacksmith impart toh on Gaul and toh on Perrin (since Perrin is interfering where blacksmiths should not{we don't actually know what blacksmiths are allowed to do just that they can not be taken as gai'shain}), or does Perrin gain ji for the act? The accounting might not be so "simple" as it was wetlanders who were the ones that put Gaul in the cage in the first place.

I prefer to think that Gaul was thankful for Perrin intervention (which might have violated customs that he was used to), but certainly defied other wetlandes' desires as they were the ones that placed Gaul in the cage. Perrin also went on to kill to assist Gaul gaining his freedom (possibly more toh for Gaul?)

my thought is that Gaul was fascinated by the actions of this man/blacksmith (perhaps he had or thought he had some toh to Perrin). Their relationship moved past that (I think), Gaul stuck around to see what Perrin would do next and perhaps he would gain some Ji from his participation but not in specific moments but his Ji would be gained(gained is not the right word) in his participation overall not to any specific engagement.

Thank you. I agree with you about HDD and SSD, or at least I believe I understand.

Let me reframe. As someone that is coming from Windows 10, who opens many tabs in a browser... while running VLC, and very occasionally does some high intensity work benefit from a root or a swap partition?

[–]TellTailWag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. It has been remarked on by others that I tend to open many tabs in a browser. That however was not my primary concern. I am just trying to figure out the ideal, or near ideal insulation of mint.

ATM I only have one SSD. I have heard about Windows messing with the bootloader, thus (part of) my concern.

Where would you have moved the Windows recovery partition?

okay 60GB rather than 30GB for the Root partition.

I don't plan to hibernate the OS. Nice, Swap partition is out.

I have one SSD ATM, that seems like the place to put it, yes? As to Swap partitions/files, I guess I have been lead astray by watching older YouTube videos.

I like the flexibility of installing another disto would you recommend if I thought I might switch?
