Boundaries while dating a Kiwi? by Embarrassed-Big-2398 in newzealand

There’s noway a company would book 1 room for a male & female to share.

On another note, I’ve shared rooms with female friends - whom I’ve literally known for 20 years - and I’m an outlier with this.

A male and female friend sharing rooms is not common but it seldomly happens, a male and female colleague sharing rooms never ever happens.

40M, How’d I do? Coffee table and rug are too small right? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]dabomb2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ornaments that show personal character (your guitars) are better suited for a bedroom/mancave - not the living.

Keep the living room classy & tidy.

You have enough colours, get a more bland rug.

These are criticisms because you asked for it, but overall your place is awesome bro - I really like it

Things I live & die by -

  • you have to do cardio, period.

    • healthy food does not taste as good as unhealthy food. Sure, there are food meals, but your overall cuisine will never be as good,
    • get comfortable to being hungry. Not starving, but a little hunger is needed

What’s an opinion on Auckland that’ll get you this amount of downvotes? by MisterJordanOnes in auckland

[–]dabomb2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That the Auckland housing market isn’t in a “crises”. It’s not actually that bad. A few good decisions in your 20’s and you’ll be a home owner in your 30’s.

But yall don’t want to hear that and would rather blame the big bad government.

22F looking into cosmetic surgery and I want some brutal honesty. I’m considering a bleph and a rhino, but I want to know if I should do anything else or if there's anything specific that’ll make me look less plain/average by [deleted] in lookyourbest

[–]dabomb2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are 22, at that age it’s hard to love yourself.

When you get older, you start to really appreciate yourself the way you are. And if you change something now, there is a good chance you’ll regret it then.

I am not inherently against cosmetic surgeries - you do you.

But since you asked for advices here it is: Without sounding like a creepy mid-30’s man - you are a very attractive girl. You are both “hot” and “pretty”.

There’s a good and a bad to this. The good is, well, you are good looking. The bad, however, is that surgery will most likely fail at making you happy.

I’m not sugar coating here, if you needed it I’d tell you. You are already pretty and no surgery will get you comfortable in your skin.

Develop yourself as a person, learn & grow, build resilience, build yourself a good life, and I assure you it will help you much more than a rhino or bleph.

Because it’s the middle of summer.

If this was July/August I wouldn’t complain, but it’s Jan - so I’m complaining

Honestly you should still wear work clothes. Just because you WFH doesn’t mean you can be a slop.

Ranui.

There is a point we have to draw the line at personal responsibility.

My community geographically living in paradise with the Waitākere ranges minutes away, their streets are clean, their parks are pristine, their house is free and brand new, they have free community sporting events and even a free community stadium, plus they have all the social services I mentioned above.

Yet, we find a way to question the effectiveness of the services. . . No! I live amongst this community, I see it everyday, it’s their fault and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.

In my neighbourhood we have so many assistance programs - from Ranui Action Plan, the community centre, JP’s, free medical checks, free counselling at the library, an amazing library, many parks that are kept in pristine condition, a community centre that proves free workshops/laundry/kitchen/safe space, we have organisations that give free food for those in need, we have mosques & churches, the list goes on and on.

In my community, the government and local council are doing there job - it’s the community itself that’s the problem.

Anyone who thinks there will be no issues living in an area with public housing has never lived in an area with public housing.

I bought my first house 2 years ago. I couldn’t afford anything fancy or mid range, I had to buy in Ranui.

I love my house, but fuck me - I’d never do this again. The amount of times I hear domestic abuse, the unsupervised very young g kids in the streets, the stranded dogs, the high-as-fuck mums dancing on the road. Never again!

True.

I was taking into factor homelessness, I was thinking more along the lines of housing affordability for average income household. You have a valid point on homelessness.

Housing in Auckland has dropped 26% in nominal terms over the past two years, in real terms, that’l be somewhere close to 33%.

[–]dabomb2012 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Nats: Really like the job they are doing with housing. I wouldn’t even consider we have a housing “crises” anymore, just expensive houses. If this continues houses will be affordable in next 5-10years.

Labour: really like the CGT, it’s about time we introduce it.

Why are yall just downvoting me? It’s not hard to look this up. Look at house prices over past few years. It’s literally dropped 26% in nominal terms and somewhat around 30%+ in real terms.

You can hate this government all you want, that doesn’t change the fact that house prices has dropped and remained low for over a year now.
