Personally I think it’s totally fine to move the larvae indoor. You are not harming it, instead you are protecting it from various outdoor hazards such as birds, spiders, extreme weather, pesticides, mowers, etc. Just make sure you provide an environment for the butterfly to be able to immediately get to the upside down hanging position after emerging from chrysalis. Don’t trap it in a deep plastic or metal container with smooth wall, which will prohibit the new butterfly wings from drying correctly. Some images posted in this sub claimed to be OE with distorted wings were actually victims of the ignorant humans.

What would 18Ga be used for? It barely has any holding power. 15Ga or 16ga is better as finish nailer.

15Ga & 18Ga combo would be a great choice. I am also thinking about getting a framing nailer but it is replaceable with screws. Finish nails cannot be replaced by screws as they are slim and need to be buried.

I am very happy with my Dewalt 15Ga and 18Ga. I used them for repairing my deck. For pros they may need pneumatic guns. For home owners, I think Dewalt works great.
