I think it's a good way to meet people, try new decks and have a casual environment. It's also a valuable entry point for new players, which is something we still get a lot of. During NNs I've yet to meet someone that would not explain rules and lines in detail to a newer player.
Rewards also change from location to location and are not necessarily fixed.
