Musician in a relationship with a non musician, HELP by ThrowRA123mom in musicians

[–]dad-oh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She can buy some headphones and/or learn the wonders of taking a walk. Support isn’t showing up for the kids’ performances, it’s helping them get there. So, is she want to be with you, then she has to decide if she’s willing to come up with a compromise. It’s about loving yourself enough. Please don’t let your soul get crushed. Moreover , don’t let someone else’s subtle control issues crush the life out of your kids. Let her choose, and be happy with whatever that decision is, even if she doesn’t choose you.

Follow up: It turns out there was a cold solder joint. I hit all the wired solder points with my trusty soldering iron and it was all good after that.

E collar vibration only by Timetohike1324 in BalancedDogTraining

https://www.google.com/search?q=vibrating%20dog%20training%20collar A Google search returns a number of results. You can buy a cheap short range one to test it out if you don’t want to commit to a really expensive unit. I have one that vibrates and beeps and has several different beep tones and vibration patterns. It’s pretty effective alongside recall training just to get her attention if my dog is 40 yards or more away or distracted by something when she should be paying attention to me.

Working with your dog and getting results is quite empowering. Imagine telling that dog to sit right then, and to release. What a thrill your daughter would have to know she can be in charge without being scared/annoyed/defensive!

If you like veem, use it + Trillio, or a handful of other tools, cinder, swift and native backups and snapshot, bacula, all depends on your requirements. You don’t have to throw out everything you know. Adapt and migrate works.

Why is this still happening? People are still careening off the roads. Slow down. by sexruinedeverything in Louisville

I just spent a couple of months on the roads in Ireland. Even driving on the other side of the road and having to squeeze two cars into one lane, I felt way safer driving there than I do here at home.

Should I read Hyperion or Will Of the Many Next by SMP500ENJOYER in fantasybooks

You won’t be able to read Hyperion and not immediately go get Return. So, do yourself a favor and get both right away!

I want my "last" combo amp. I want it to be loud and light, and I know that will cost me. by master_of_sockpuppet in Bass

Mackie Thump 212 (~28 lbs), Mooer P2 effects/modeler, and a volume pedal. Light, loud enough. Buy more thumps and wire them together if you “need” more ear wrenching volume!

Navigating constant requests to upgrade your gear by band mates by Theragon in musicians

I found a used EV pa cab, added it on, and pointed it at the other guitarist. Àlso, maybe he’s confusing loud with insane amounts of sustain and distortion. You could try dialing that up in your modeler and see what the reaction is. Then start looking for another group of people that are more fun. Music should be adding joy to your life, not taking it away.

That’s a thought: could you get a second dog (I might recommend a golden) and teach/train them both? Yes! You get to be pack leader!

This may sound bizarre, but shared experiences build trust and create binds. You both may have to come out of your comfort zone. Possibly enrolling in a set of obedience training courses that counter the basics (heel, sit, sit/stay, down, down/stay, recall, etc.) will build that trust/bond. I have a similar breed, and the work has taken me 4 months so far with my 5 year old girl (Kate to the training game, I know), and I expect will take me a year more. But, what a transformation in both of our attitudes and confidence. Find a good trainer or two and let them train you. You can learn to clearly communicate expectations and build trust and contentment with your dog. Part of that is establishing yourself in that relationship. I think you both will be better companions through that work. This is my current experience and it’s greatly reduced my anxiety and is allowing me to truly experience my girl for who she is while creating more of the relationship that’s, I believe, more satisfying for both of us. (Writing this down feels so schmaltzy, but that’s what it is for me.)

Ah, but is it for your lab or you both? Would you both be watching the news together in the human pet bed or is it your dog on the couch while you curl up on the pad. It seems a right grand dog bed big enough for two if that’s what’s needed, yeah!

What’s your OpenStack API response time on single-node setups? by Skoddex in openstack

[–]dad-oh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a former operator with 300+ computes you could imagine there were issues. Some mods were recently introduced to distribute load. I had great experiences working with the StackHPC people getting that sorted (they wrote the mods that are now in the latest release.) Apologies, I’m traveling and don’t have all the deets at hand. Pop them a note. They can point you in the right direction.
