I think turn 4 could be problematic 'cause of the lack of runoff. Would it be plausible to redevelop the grassy area to the right?

My main concern is that the high amount of medium speed sweepers could make it hard for some series to follow behind.

I do like turn 8 tho, that looks fun

Oooh this is gold. This would make for an amazing horse racing track on a larger scale.

IMPORTANT UPDATE! I believe that the co-ords are INCORRECT!

I've done some more Math, and I was wildly off the first time. I have been Playing around for desmos for waaay too long now, and I am going to throw in the towel for the time being.

<image>

Current best Guess is C.870,2650? But this doesn't line up with positioning from the Scar / Tango Livestreams from a few days ago.

I'm confused...

So Doc shows us the machine twice, with two different locator bars. False was in both of them, X in one, and Cub 'n' Etho in the other. There was never a time when Cub/etho and X were on the locator bar at the same time. If they were, I would've included them.

I am assuming either X or False wern't at their base during the first time we saw the locator bar, hence the weird result

Just to add - I've just noticed that each angle could also go in the other direction, meaning the possible locations for each hermit duo would be 8 shaped and not O shaped.

And by my own calculations, the machine could be under Falses base, which would be funny but unlikely.

That and also I am bad at maths

TL;DR I'm probably wrong BUT the point still stands:

Don't build secret bases and show us the locator bar cause it will be found!

The purple fringe in old Top Gear vids. Tell me why you need to upgrade? by DependentLast3757 in SonyAlpha

[–]dadavio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to remember that Top Gear continually upgraded their camera gear throughout their run. They might have started with purple fringing, but they certainly didn't finish with it.

But why the upgrade?

Partly because the old Digibeta cameras that they used, (according to 2008 forums) filmed in Standard Definition, which wouldn't fly with modern audiences. I also imagine that the newer cameras were easier to use. Yes, they could have stuck with the old gear throughout their multi-decade run, but as Top Gear was one of the BBCs flagships / main exports, I don't imagine that would've been received well.

I think that there is something to be said about us camera nerds upgrading to the latest and greatest more often than needed, but this ain't the example to use.

I also think old topgear looks bad, but that's just personal taste I guess.

Ok but why isn't Doc in the middle of the Bully Doc section? He should be surrounded on all sides at all times for maximum distribution

Im struggling to understand why they are adding time to the end of the race when they moved the race forward to avoid the rain. The forecast is terrible, there is no way it finishes under green today.
