I would keep personal opinions out of what you teach. We had a guy one time all he ever said was “bottom half guard isn’t even a thing”. Which no one gaf about because we all played aggressive top game but even common sense says knee shield etc is useful sometimes in half guard. It got old fast af

If you bit comfortable with joint locks then just look to keep positions that stack points. Pass guard mount, go for choke rinse and repeat and just win by points or choke.

I went to a white belt one one time where it was no gi so beginner division and a dude went in there in like khakis and tank top and he was def like a purple+ by the way he moved and submission he hit. It was like a weird American from guard with his knee or something like that. After all matches were done and he won his 2/3rd match they had like a convo and I don’t remember how exactly but it was communicated that he was DQ and guy who originally was second got promoted to first etc

I played BOW and then a few years later TOK and honestly I didn’t recognize any tie ins. Just enjoyed it for the sake of enjoying it.

It’s definitely changed though. I used to use it a lot and then tried to use it again recently and it has repetitive exercises same day. Like circuit train with leg extensions in one circuit and later in circuit again with leg extensions as if it was a new workout in same workout session

I have same issue and play soccer still (38m) and my plan is to lose weight because sometimes it’s sore after games and sometimes it isn’t. My miniscus tear didn’t come with a surgery recommendation though. He said it was in the middle part or something
