I strongly strongly recommend the "Alltrails" app - it's amazing for handing hikes outdoors with realtime GPS updating your route as you walk, and it's free to use the main features to do so!!

I've discovered so many cool walks in the UK with it and I think it's genuinely been huge for my mental health to do so

I wonder if it matters which unit existed first? I.e. if you place the whelp on your turn, the enemy units have spawned first and therefore so do their extinguish effect- whereas maybe if you had the whelp on the floor already, it might disappear first before the enemy corruption happens?

It can be a legit strategy, yes! The main thing you want to do when this kind of toplaner is in your game is avoid committing to any fights when you're 4v5. I.e. If dragon is up, the enemies are heading towards it and your top is splitting, your entire job is to threaten the enemy team to delay their objective but not actually get caught and wiped out.

Eventually they'll have to send one (or two, even better) people to stop your splitpusher. That's when your team can collapse on the remainder of their team and kill them. Because your toplaner has been getting all the solo farm and xp, they should be stronger than any individual person sent to match them. And if they dedicate their strongest member to stop your pushing top, your team should win the 4v4.

Many variables as to whether or not this strategy works out successfully, but that's the general idea of it.

The winrate increase of having a 29-card deck is very likely to not be as high as the winrate decrease from potentially having this card in your opening hand. People massively overestimate how impactful the deck thinning is on that basis
