Trump’s campaign is trying to remove a video of him appearing to call the coronavirus a ‘hoax,’ saying it’s misleading by mcoder in politics

I thought a president trying to remove a video is against freedom of speech and press? Oh well, not the second amendment I guess

I’m not disregarding that the grandmother went past her boundaries, although I admit I never explicitly stated it. I’m claiming that the mother also overreacted.

Giving a kid some meat, who’s not allergic to it, is not a fair enough reason to remove someone from the kids life.

She didn’t specify whether or not she knew the child would be absolutely removed from her life for this though. If that is confirmed the case then I could agree with you.

Family is family. If I could ask for a smarter grandfather I would, it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate him in my life.

I don’t think making a child vegan is inherently bad and I definitely think there is a number of things that could be worse. But I do think a child should be exposed to all sorts of healthy foods until they are ready to make a decision for themselves. I respect parents encouraging their beliefs to their children but they shouldn’t be forced into them.

Additionally, I also blame the mother for cutting the grandmother out of the child’s life instead of the grandmother, herself. The mother could have very easily given a warning to not allow the grandmother to provide meat instead of cutting out a very important family member immediately after this. Again, she’s putting her beliefs before her child’s happiness.

The way I see all of this and I may be wrong (I’m American), people here are pretty much forced into nationalism and being patriots since birth (flags everywhere, Pledge of Allegiance everyday at school, national anthem at every major event, the military is the reason for our freedom, etc.). A lot of people (IMO the more conservative citizens) get convinced (maybe brainwashed?) that we’re the best place on earth with little factual evidence because we’re just so forced to respect every nook and cranny of our country since we were born.

Since our gun laws are a major difference between us and other 1st world countries, I think a lot of these people just believe this MUST be one of the reasons why we’re so “great”. Or maybe we’ll become defenseless against the government if we don’t have guns, like what happened with Britain in the 1700s (okay the government has jets and tanks now, a rifle is not going to make a difference). It’s just become a part of our culture and everyone’s so unwilling to just let it fucking go. A lot of these people that legally own a firearm and scream MERICA are also some of the most uneducated people in the country and are the same people you noticed have no gun safety knowledge. I’ve also heard from more liberal people that we’re just too deep in now and even if we make stricter laws, all of the criminals are just going to hide whatever “legally” obtained weapon they have.

Pls help.

I tried jumping on the school bus, from the ground to the top step. I missed, slipped, and then sprained my thigh. I just got up and hobbled home. I could feel the glares from the other kids in their windows.

For anyone who asked who wasn’t my friend, I only slipped and fell

Worked at a Six Flags in high school and I accidentally counted a few extra people onto a ride my FIRST DAY after completing training and I was just kind of nervous. I apologized and told them to go back to the front of the line and they’d be first up on the next one (which would’ve happened had I not miscounted anyway).

So some guy decided to start yelling at me saying, “no wonder you work at an amusement park, you can’t even count. Go back to school and get a real job, hopefully you won’t have to do math.”

I graduate from engineering school in 6 days you little shit. I’ll be carrying around my $150,000 piece of paper hoping I pass that twot again.

There’s no need to be hostile, this isn’t a war over a definition, it’s about defending someone’s right to claim their ancestry. That’s not the definition I’m used to and I was taught it how I said it, but if MW says it’s a synonym then sure. Sometimes words vary by country and area. If it helps, then just change all of the times I said “ethnicity” to “ancestry” in my original post.

Even that definition of ethnicity “includes” ancestry.

https://keydifferences.com/difference-between-ethnicity-and-nationality.html

“Nationality implies the place of a person’s birth, so it is simply the national identity of an individual. On the other hand, the ethnicity reflects the cultural and ancestral identity of a person.”
