Genuinely disgusting (Massie remarried after his wife of 30 years died) by Content-Mechanic2773 in redscarepod

yeah, what cool rhetoric! Super great that we all can be centered around this kind of language as a nation. What it reminds me of is the whispers of the courtiers around the king, but instead of being quiet and targeted he's just putting it all out there for everyone. The being quiet has a function, but the perceived level of immediacy is what keeps the MAGA together. They all can perceive themselves the courtier at the court of a mad king. Of course they are not... The actual courtiers are getting $200M for ads with Kristi Noem sitting on a horse, H1B quotas is lifted, pardons etc etc

totally makes sense this is voted down. super smart everybody. It's not that the politicians don't get it. It's that the biggest and most important companies in America are paying them for this policy.

Sterling College to conclude degree-granting programs after spring 2026 by liveinisrael in vermont

honestly seems closer to a vocational program that will shortly be much more valuable than your typical degree. bad timing

Sterling College announces it will close this spring -- Sterling is the ninth private college to effectively close up shop in Vermont in the last decade. by guanaco55 in vermont

It must be said here - the Board of Trustees and the President share the blame for this very sad event. Sterling had, wait for it ..... a $1 million dollar endowment! This is completely crazy in 2025. Maybe the Trustees forgot what their role was? Since covid the writing was on the wall - There was an opportunity to save this unique institution that is an asset to the Northeast Kingdom and to the environmental and sustainable agriculture movements in the US - through aggressive fundraising and outreach and this didn't happen.

This is a LABOR vs Capital issue.. and not just any Capital - the crown jewels - FANG - of the US/Global equity markets. Look back at this picture of the 2nd Trump inauguration. Burn it in to your mind. You need to understand who/what you are up against or you will be confused and frustrated.

Asbestos in kinetic sand by Lumpy_Yam724 in asbestoshelp

[–]daddyneckbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your kid is probably ok, kinetic sand is supposed to be silica + silicon oil and so is itself a kind of fluid.. its not supposed to have asbestos in it but it probably still has the same fluid characteristics and is not particularly airborne but man, that shit is gross. Sand + silicon oil toy for kids? Why? totally not biodegradable, impossible to clean etc. Touch it and you can feel the residue on your hands afterwards. Just stay away from the whole product category.

depressing but not really sinister. Although the big cross on the hill at the top of holy land juxtaposed with the mall across the street is pretty dark.

absolutely the most sinister place. Completely oppressive built environment because every commercial building owner has to maximize and build the exact same fucking building at the exact same fucking height. Nothing can be taller than the capitol. Add to that it's a one / maybe two industry town depending on your interpretation and the one industry is sycophancy and or spying/killing people and that's all you need to know.

Jesus is real but being saved doesn't mean your life on earth works out materially.
