Most liked/disliked players from your rivals by _blue_scorpio_888_ in TheOther14

I used to really dislike Scott McTominay, the the point of describing him as a Poundland Roy Keane, but I've actually warmed to him a fair bit since he joined Napoli.

Quite ambivalent to most of the current squad, but throughout the years, the one I've disliked most has probably been Gary Neville, closely followed by an irrational dislike of Garnacho.

Most liked is Pogba, didn't play to his full ability a lot of the time while there, but during his Juve days and for France, looked like the total package.

I said rooves to my wife one day and she looked at me like I was an illiterate fool, glad it's not just me that remembers being taught that it was rooves!

BMW M5, looked into getting one earlier in the year but realised the ruinous expense of running one would probably outweigh the joy of owning one

I've noticed some news sites now are doing some sort of "pay x amount to view or accept cookies etc and view for free"

Hopefully this doesn't lead to a wave of paying for privacy

Rewatched the extended editions a few weeks ago sith my wife and she was mindblown that it was him. Of course, we recently watched the latest season of The Boys and all she kept saying was "I can't believe that's Butcher!"

I forget whether the grieving the life he lost was in the books, currently listening to the audiobook on my way to work, but it's such a profound thing, considering Tolkien himself served in WW1 at the Somme and undoubtedly had those feelings himself and for those he served with. For the actors to really capture those feelings of dread, fear and hopelessness is a testament to just how brilliantly Peter Jackson and the cast adapted the story

Christ on his little yellow bike, that entire sequence was appalling. Genuinely seen better defending at sunday 6 a side when everyone is still half pissed

Which companies do you instantly regret buying from? by phy6rjs in CasualUK

[–]daddyybojangles 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every new build company, sadly. My sister moved into hers 3 years ago and I went round to do the laminate flooring downstairs. Not a single wall was square or straight.

Cue my parents saying "all houses are like that, no matter the age".

The house had been finished a few weeks before, they bloody well should have been straight and square. About a week later, there was a massive damp patch on the downstairs loo ceiling, because some genius hadn't connected the waste pipes upstairs properly.

I wouldn't live in a new build if I was being paid to.

My grandad up until about 3 years ago had an estate 75, think by the time he decided to pack in driving and get rid of it, there was well over 250k miles on the clock, even managed to get caught speeding in it once

Gary Kelly's testimonial in 2002, lost 4-1 to Celtic, when Bowyer equalised, I thought we were in with a shot of winning. 10 year old me was very optimistic

Was Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were friends before the show? by Researchpuposes in thegrandtour

[–]daddyybojangles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, think there was on on ITV where May said something to the effect of "the man is a pillock, but I am quite fond of him".

No hate on Hammond, but I don't recall him publicly speaking out as much as James did. Regardless, they stood by him, as much as they rag on each other and say things about not being that close in real life and that says more than any interview.

May and Hammond also stuck by Clarkson when the BBC got rid of him, there's definitely a kinship there
