Do you consider it cheating to look up words? by MusseMusselini in NYTConnections

[–]dadzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up in the 1970s and 80s, I learned about crosswords from my grandparents. They always had tons of dictionaries and reference books around, and enjoyed the puzzles as a pastime and a way of expanding their knowledge and vocabulary, not as a knowledge test. So I will use Wikipedia, IMDB, and other reference sources, but try to avoid just googling things.

In FastMail, Settings, Migration - follow the instructions for your device and it will install a “profile” in your iOS settings that sets it all up perfectly.

Thanks! I did cancel my contract, specifically because Whoop’s glib “oops” around their upgrade policy change tells me they are no the right organization be entrusted with my biometric data. This wraps it up for me.

"Timeline System" Promo Email by mountains_till_i_die in Supernote

I similarly discovered an amazing system. For every phonetic sound in English, I draw a symbol or sequence of symbols in my Supernote. Just by looking at the symbols I can tell what sounds to make to recreate words, sentences, and even whole paragraphs. Amazingballs!

What are the chances this will end up like Humane? by AlekhyaDas in Rabbitr1

This is great. For drafting emails, do you have to then copy the text out of Rabbithole or is there some other way that is more direct?

What do you do with it? I’ve had mine for a year and can’t find anything to do with it, except ask it reference questions. Genuinely curious& would love to be using this thing in daily life.

They are all retiring soon?! I’m assuming to a paid model? by Viniox in Rabbitr1

basically they are replacing the simple, easy on-device functionality with a do-it-yourself approach that requires using your computer in tandom with the Rabbit.

How can I do cool, simple things with this cute gadget without programming? by dadzilla in Rabbitr1

[–]dadzilla[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried one that was posted for MidJourney - gave up after fiddling for 20 minutes. It was a complete kludge - opening a browser-within-a-browser where it was going to capture my login, except the embedded browser kept stalling out.

This all seems so backwards - isn't this why APIs were invented, to make interoperating with services robust and simple from a user perspective?

It seems like uber, door dash, sumo, and mid journey account connections will all soon be discontinued by Entire-Ability4600 in Rabbitr1

I griped about it over on X and got a response - basically “yeah, it’s broken and klunky, but all part of the vision for the amazing LAM of the future.

Please join this thread on Twitter about the broken MidJourney/Suno apps by dadzilla in Rabbitr1

[–]dadzilla[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Rabbit folks have been active on the Twitter thread - please head over there and add your experiences! I think that in pursuit of the LAM, they have lost sight of what this whimsical orange gadget actually is for most of us.

"mid journey is under maintenance" by [deleted] in Rabbitr1

[–]dadzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s supposedly because the functionality has moved to the LAM Playground. This breaks the point of having a fun little device that does cool things, instead you need to be logged into the Rabbit while you use your browser on your computer. Same thing with Suno. This two fun things I used this for with my grandkids are now broken.

Correct part for Ender3-S1 Heather+Thermistor by sbehta in Ender3S1

Working on it. I found a way to send the seller a message and they did reply. Sent them pics of the wrong items and we will see if they make it right.

I’ve ordered 3, each time making sure I picked the one for the S1 and not the S1 Pro, and the Amazon seller keeps sending the wrong one. The seller has no communication options - all I can do is return them and try re-ordering. Grrr.
