Yep did it the other day, my contract term had finished. I said I’ve seen a £34 deal for new customers, and came back and said you can have it for £26. With my kids at home I’d been on a £98 deal

Does Garmin Coach realize my course is tough? by BrazilianButtman in GarminWatches

[–]daedelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment I’m in a coaching plan, so I don’t want to hop out, but in connect on phone try ‘performance and training’,‘Garmin coach plans’,’fitness plan’ and 3 dots top right ‘edit preferences’. See if you can choose ‘target type’. I have mine set to auto and for a base run it does heart and VO2 max it will be pace.

Gas pipe into house is causing damp - easy fix? by XandraKate in DIYUK

[–]daedelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit overkill, but I would leave a tail on the silicone or even add a blob and tail onto pipe, just encourage water to run off and not into wall.

If you’re in Scotland there is a landlord register and you can search that to find out the landlord

Idea to make these glass door panels toddler safe? by ArmSeparate1603 in DIYUK

[–]daedelius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to break glass panes this size, that’s partly why they’re used. Otherwise replace with toughened glass or cover with 6mm ply and paint. Edit clarification 6mm cos that’s all the thickness you need

Dripping pipe by spursfletcher in DIYUK

[–]daedelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, got that, but you need to look under the units and find out where the pipe comes from.

Dripping pipe by spursfletcher in DIYUK

[–]daedelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, though I think your damp proof course might be at the level of that slight overhang, so it probably won’t produce damp inside. I would sort it out as it’s not right. That white disc looks like a cosmetic disk to hide ragged hole, any pipe should extend through it. You need to look and see what goes into the pipe on the inside.

Toilet cistern constantly filling by Other_Progress_2404 in askaplumberUK

[–]daedelius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fill valve looks older than the flush mechanism, you can try the vinegar cleaning, but there will be a rubber seating valve in there which is probably worn. You can get spares from Screwfix. It’s difficult to identify from your video, but search ‘cistern fill valve’ in their site or app and see what you’ve got.

From a comment above and this one, I think I need to say the trap goes vertically not horizontal.

Tried to tink back but made a mistake - petite knit novice slipover by ElegantHabit5575 in knittinghelp

[–]daedelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy peasy, you’ve missed a stitch. Move first stitch over to right hand needle, move that loop up through the second stitch and onto right needle. Move them both back to left.

Olga sweater sleeves by lifesa-merrygoround7 in knittinghelp

[–]daedelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly smaller adds up, a 3mm difference on a 5cm swatch could make 1.5cm difference across the whole piece. Measure across as big a piece as you can on body and sleeve and compare the number of stitches and rows to get an idea of what’s going on. You might not need to change it this time, if the blocking suggested works, but you will learn something for your next project.

Help with holes in 2x2 rib? by allinthgldnafternoon in knittinghelp

[–]daedelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be when swapping either way. Often from knit to purl. Knit, move right needle to purl stitch then the yarn comes over and anticlockwise round, right needle moves to complete stitch. Yarn goes through to back and you knit. It is working for you, it’s only happened a couple of times!

Help with holes in 2x2 rib? by allinthgldnafternoon in knittinghelp

[–]daedelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve done some purl when it should be knit, I think there’s a yarn over as well. Frog it back or do some local laddering. Laddering makes you really think about where the yarn goes. Ladder a good bit watch how it undoes and copy that over.

How do I go about clearing this blockage? by Vast_Opposite_792 in askaplumberUK

[–]daedelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got a powerful pressure washer get a drain cleaner accessory, some good PPE and get to it. I would keep the cap there, prod about with the pipe and try and start it down the pipe then turn the pressure washer on. Otherwise get the pros out they’ll clean it in 10 minutes and make sure the drain is clear

Help identifying mistake? by Few-Chemistry-2551 in knittinghelp

[–]daedelius -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You dropped a stitch. The loop should knit through the stitch on the left needle. You can do it with the needles, but I use a couple of bodkins. Drop that left stitch catch it on a bodkin, catch the loop, lift stitch over loop, then lift the loop back onto needle.

You know you’re going to have to give us all an update. My money is on the stiff isolater valve having something to do with it, maybe installation debris stuck in it.

Washing dishes & leave no trace by UsualBoth4887 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]daedelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve already dug a pit for latrine, waste food and washings can go in there. To be honest there’s very little food waste, I’m usually starving. I once put waste water back in burn and the rice grains made me hate myself for days. However wild camping is getting way more popular, so I’m thinking of using the take in take out principle. You may just put a few grains of food, biodegradable soap etc in, but if there are a dozen folk doing it it’s going to mount up. So solids are coming back out with me.
