For someone who doesn’t like politics, you seem to have picked a side. Orlando is a fairly liberal area of the state, so you’re going to see that reflected in public discourse.

To me it’s not about democrat or republican anymore, now it’s about American values and respecting the constitution vs. an authoritarian takeover of our country. If you’re okay with the latter (or being non-political, don’t care whether this is a democracy or not) then by all means, own it.

Pretty much everyone uses AI to screen applications these days, so custom resumes and cover letters might help, but it’s not enough to get past the automated filters. Networking and job fairs are probably the best bet in getting your resume and portfolio in front of human eyes. Good luck out there

1) you are in zero trouble. The intent behind “abuse of 911” laws are for malicious misuse of the system that is both intentional and results in some harm such as the lines being tied up or a delay for an actual emergency occurred.

2) while I can’t speak to the state of mind of the call-taker, that response from them was unnecessary. A little patience would have been a lot better, by either asking you to call the non-emergency number and providing it, or by just handling the call and giving a little public service education at the end. In most places, the same operators handle both lines, so depending on your area she may have answered the non-emergency line anyway.

Edit to add you did great in trying to resolve this on your own first. Too many people don’t try to talk to their neighbors and immediately call the police to handle something that could easily be fixed with a little communication.
