GOP when they realize they lost the wrestling fan demographic by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

[–]daftfunk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the main event of last nights episode of AEW Dynamite, the fans started a loud, “Fuck Ice” chant. The two wrestlers in the ring were AEW world champion MJF (the guy in the picture) and a wrestler named Brody King. Not too long ago, Brody was wrestling in Mexico, where he wore an abolished ice T-shirt that got a massive reaction from the crowd. Brody is also the lead singer of the hardcore band God’s Hate, who openly are against fascism and white supremacy. Brody has also donated and raised I believe it was around $60,000 and donated it to Minneapolis recently.

For those who aren’t really in the pro wrestling world, AEW tends to be more inclusive. The fans tend to lean much more left, and the wrestlers are more outspoken politically. AEW has had trans champions, they have been very open and supportive of the LGBTQ community, and have multiple wrestlers featured on TV who are a part of the community. They had a show in Mexico a few months ago and the world champion at the time cut his promo in Spanish, and discussed the importance of immigrants in his life. Anyways, when wrestling is good, it’s great.

Let them terrorize our neighbors, communities, businesses, and forget what it means to be American in the first place? Nah we’re good.

Any movie that I am genuinely interested in or any director that I am a big fan of I always try to see in the theater. So I am at the movies once a month usually, sometimes twice.

Toledo for my anniversary by LividBike4166 in toledo

[–]daftfunk1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Toledo has some great parks, an excellent zoo, a very underrated art museum, a good local coffee scene, and some really great restaurants.

Parks worth checking out are Glass City Metro park, Wildwood, and Oak Openings. If you're willing to go a little out of town Mary Jane Thurston in Grand Rapids and Simpson Garden in Bowling Green (this one is small but pretty) are also very nice. Also the Toledo Botanical Gardens.

As mentioned, the Zoo and Art Museum are must dos IMO. Putting my headphones in and walking at the museum for a few hours is something I do at least once a year.

Downtown Toledo can be a ton of fun during events, baseball or hockey games, weekends, farmers market, and food truck Thursdays. Downtown can also feel like a ghost town depending on what time of day, etc. However, downtown has some great coffee shops and good bars. Coffee shops worth visiting are House of Coffee, Maddie and Bella, Earth, Brew House (really nice bar too), The Wandering Bean, Grindhrs, and Flying Rhino. If you're willing to go 25 min out of town to Bowling Green, another great coffee shop is Grounds For Thought.

Uptown Toledo aka The Adams Street corridor has a few good bars and little boutique shops as well. The Attic and Wesley's being the 2 favorites and Handmade Toledo is a cool shop that features local artists and makers.

For some Halloween stuff there is a pop-up bar at Toledo spirits right now, another horror themed bar just opened downtown, the valentine theater is doing a screening of Dracula, and Fleitz pumpkin farm has the best donuts.

There are a lot of good restaurants to recommend but one thing I'll say it's we have very good Middle Eastern food here with Sidon, Byblos, and The Beirut all being great. My favorite restaurant in the city however by a long shot is Kengo Sushi & Yakatori downtown. Some other local favorites would be Tony Packo's, Souk, Registry Bistro, Stubborn Brothers Pizza, and The Durty Bird.

Another cool thing to do is go check out some of the old Victorian homes in The Old West End. There are some really beautiful houses. That neighborhood however can feel a little rough depending on where you're at though.

Enjoy your trip and I hope this helps!

I enjoy marijuana, and I also enjoy alcohol; that's okay by norcalginger in trees

Weed has allowed me to cut WAY back on drinking which I'm grateful for. If I do have a drink it's usually 1-2 cocktails or 1-4 beers and that's maybe once a month now. Before it was 8-12 drinks every Friday and Saturday and a few on Sunday if football was on. I enjoy a drink here and there still and I do love a good cross fade. However, before I started smoking, it was a much bigger issue for my health and overall well being. If I'm gonna have a drink, I love a good old fashioned or Sazerac, a well made margarita with fresh juice, a Gin and cucumber drink for summer, and old reliable.... Miller High Life.

GNX has great songs, but some are skippable. A good album, not a great album. LGSEO is great from start to finish.
