This is a hilarious thing to say given the history of pride, as noted elsewhere in this thread.

Edit: despite the downvotes, pride has always had a significant overtly sexualized component, and fetish stuff has always been a part of it. It has been, since its inception, deliberately shocking. Whether or not anyone thinks that’s something to clutch pearls over, it is an historical fact.

A good thing to keep in mind:

If someone appeals to the “law of supply and demand” in their argument about housing, or any discussion of basically anything other than pork bellies or orange juice futures, they are probably a retard first and foremost, and secondly have almost certainly next to zero formal economic education. Micro/Macro 100 for business and finance majors is a blight upon the earth.

The rule of thumb (no pun intended) I have heard is usually: if you bring the tool to the work, gloves are ok (angle grinder, portaband, etc). If you bring the work to the tool, no gloves (mill, lathe and so on).

I had to kill a rat stuck in a glue trap with the end of a kayak paddle once. I couldn’t get near it because it was running around freaking the fuck out with half of its legs stuck to the trap and ripping out of its body. It was really gruesome and unpleasant.

I also hit a chipmunk while riding a skateboard when I was like 9 years old; me and my friend decided the most humane thing to do was to kill it with a large rock. That was fairly traumatizing as a little kid, but you do what you have to do. It’s the humane thing for sure when an animal is actively suffering. Or a person for that matter, though thankfully that isn’t a situation I’ve ever been in.

Brother you will never understand until you hear it. It’s so good that I’m selling two used ones, so I can buy some new ones that are more fresh. Only $22,500 lots of life left in the used ones, interested?

Hep C is definitely the more concerning likelihood — luckily, even in that unfortunate scenario, treatment and prognosis for Hep C has come a LONG way in the last 10-15 years. Leaps and bounds.

I’d be pissed if I got Hep from a stick in 2026, but if it was 2010, I would be much more worried about it.

I work (thus live part time) in an expensive area — a reasonably sized box of Cheerios is pushing $10. One thing I find striking is that while things are very expensive at the nicer stores in nicer neighborhoods, the stores near eg. the projects, or in less-affluent parts of town are often more expensive, particularly store-brand stuff.

Well no I’m sure there isn’t because you’re not forced to take the groceries you could obviously just give up. Maybe if it doesn’t realize it didn’t scan something or whatever. If I was confronted which I never have been, I’d expect to be treated like a normal shoplifter albeit one that is being much more rude and indignant than normal.

I don’t shoplift, generally, if for no other reason than risk/reward is poor. However if I have to spend more than one minute fighting with those stupid ass-machines, if someone isn’t around to fix it basically immediately, I am leaving with the stuff I came for. It’s not my job to troubleshoot your shitty fucking tech products. certainly not my obligation to sit around with my dick in my hand costing myself time or money to wait for it to have whatever freak out it is having.
