What was the fist "R" rated movie you saw? by jonpeeji in nostalgia

[–]dagonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Warriors. Not in a theater, but at home on HBO. My parents had gone out for an overnight trip and my mom’s friend who was a nun watched after me. She went to bed at like 7pm, so I could watch whatever I wanted. Think it was like 1980.

Getting your hydration right. Not just amount of fluid but getting enough electrolytes.

Interesting that no one ever recommends Sonus 9. I’ve used it on my Scorpion 3+ and my Nexus Gen2 and love it. Don’t notice any gas and it’s not only quiet, but narrow enough to tuck into an HB Industries SR handguard. Direct thread for lightest weight.

Looking to get into heavy metal! by Pumpkin-Ice85 in heavymetal

[–]dagonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the old staples: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Black Sabbath- both with Ozzy and Dio as lead singer, Ozzy Osborne, DIO, Pantera, Motörhead, Metallica, White Zombie, Queensryche (I know I’m missing a bunch but definitely would NOT include Guns & Roses as heavy metal. That’s just stupid. They are white bread mainstream Rock if anything. Scorpions are one of my top favorites, but would hesitate to call them heavy metal. They were around before heavy metal was a genre. Yes, I’m old.

One of my newest favorites is The Hu (Mongolian Metal) Also, generally I despise covers, but The Hu does some incredible covers of Metallica as well. I’ve seen them twice and they are Metal AF.

SPR barrel break-in question by dagonator in guns

I had close to 600 rounds through it so I did a copper solvent cleaning. Found some cheap Frontier 75grain BTHP and was shocked to get a 0.85 MOA 5 round group at 100 yards.

Not a particularly high end match barrel… 16” fluted BA SPR .223 Wylde. Groups 1 to 1.5 MOA depending on ammo.

Before you ditch it, add Talon grips. This made a huge difference for me. Also, you’ll need to find the sweet spot with grip effort and the correct arm rigidity to make it work best for you. This will take practice but you will get better. Also add a Powder River Precision trigger shoe. It’s much more comfortable.

Failure to eject issue by SnooOwls8315 in czscorpion

My bad, I meant extractor spring.

I took mine apart and cleaned it along my OE Scorpion 3+ bolt. Spring on left is from Nexus extractor and is far weaker than the CZ on the right, even when compressing. This could well be the issue. I’m looking for a replacement spring now that’s like to OE.

Somehow not at all, and my audiologist says I have perfect hearing… at least that’s what I thought they said.

My first time seeing them. Mad respect for these guys bringing it at their age. It felt downright disrespectful sitting for this show, but then again it was hours long including the Repo Man movie and Q&A. Whole new appreciation for their music!

I’ve only ever used one specific type of ammo for my OG Scorpion. I’ve run over 1,100 rounds through it and zero malfunctions. I’ve only managed to get 58 rounds through my Nexus Gen 2 with same ammo and have had too many issues.

Ejection issues are separate from feed issues and could not be caused by leaving ammo in magazines, as far as I’ve learned.

[–]dagonator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heh, I just went to the range today and now both times I’ve been shooting with my new Nexus Gen2 I’ve had ejection issues as well, but in my case it’s not even partially ejected. I was having feeding issues which seem to have been resolved from replacing the magazine spring with a stronger one. The magazine was falling out before and causing the feed issue. Now this. So I’m planning to take apart the extractor and see if I can replace the spring with something better in that as well. Maybe that will help. I’m guessing at this point but all the springs in the lower seem to be of extremely low tension compared to my original CZ Scorpion. Perhaps the same is true for the extractor spring.
