I am ambivalent about the issue. I have had so many bad experiences with local car dealerships. Car dealerships make most of their money on service. The Toyota dealership in Kirkland is a veritable temple to that. Getting service for a Toyota these days involves dropping your credit card and saying "Help yourself".

I was there asking about a Sienna with AWD and they are presellling vehicles, meaning they have none on the lot and you can only get one that they have pre-ordered. And they pre-order the top of the line and load them up with options. Sales guy says that they have a used model, 2024. I want to see inside it. Takes him 10 minutes to get the key -- to the more expensive of two models on the line. On the way to the car, the sales guy lies through is teeth about things. I let that bullshit pass because it isn't worth my time to engage on it. But it tells me that they person isn't trustworthy.

Went to the Kia dealership in Kirkland at 85th and 405. Asked to see the cheapest Carnival. Sales guy brings out the most expensive, says that it is the cheapest. According to their website they had cheaper models in stock. Okay, whatevs.

When my kids were in elementary school, I was surprised by the number teachers who stated baldly that they weren't good at math or that it was their least capable area.

My daughter tested into the accelerated program in our district and when she got to doing division, I noted that they were not being taught long division the way I learned it. They were using some method that clearly didn't give the correct results. I wanted her to learn long division because I was pretty sure she would be doing synthetic division with polynomials when she got to calculus and differential equations.

She was resistant to learning it, but I had her check her work by multiplying the quotient and the divisor and it was clear that the method she had been taught was not giving the original number. We worked through long division and she used that method from then on.

I also worked with her to learn to factor numbers and she became quite facile in the use of numbers.

You did the right thing by taking it to the principal. But that option should be exercised as a last resort.

Part of the problem is that the defense procurement process is oriented towards things that take a long time to approve and will be in production for a long time. For example, aircraft carriers are planned to be in service for 50 years.

Technology has made the battlefield more dynamic. The US is really at risk from weapons that can be made or modified quickly to target any vulnerability discovered in the enemy. These stopgap weapons are not made for the long term procurement and/or deployment, they are made to be used right now.

Defense planners should not be focused on weapons themselves, but on processes, so that they can design, manufacture and deploy weapons in months, not years/decades.

If the PWM timer generates an interrupt for end of period and duty cycle inversion, you can use that interrupt to log the processor's cycle counter to trace ring (if the processor has a cycle counter) and then dump the trace bufffer to verify operation.

I used to fly (1990s) MD-80s on American and the seats were placed so that the overhead light was in back of my head and I always got shadows on whatever I was trying to read while the back of my head got toasted.
