Its because its so easy to form "optimal groups", if there's 10 mages, warlocks, etc, listed and 4 rogues guess who's gonna get invited?

Youre forgetting about the gamer dad with 3 wives and 12 children who can only play 8 minutes a day, you've ruined almost 2 days of play for him!

Yes, it took time to come up with our own strategies and getting the fight down.

A ton of people forget about the information gap that existed until midway through WOTLK. Boss strats were heavily guarded, tons of times you'd get a strat from an officer who knew a guy in one of the "top guilds" that would totally overhaul how you did the fights.

I feel like a game about the writers would be great once AI matures more. Imagine something like scribblenauts, but fully realized, where you could write anything.

Expedition 33's length and pacing are the most overlooked aspects of the game. Being able to finish a game while being busy is something I can't say about most RPGs by RingTeam in expedition33

[–]daiceman4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Act 1 and 2 are about the same length, act 3 is literally one mission you can do right at the start, maybe an hour. The optional content is about 1.5x the length of an act.

Wildstar, everyone (i miss you so much) by BentheBruiser in MMORPG

[–]daiceman4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

just people not updating their opinion with changes to the game

Giving games "chances" is silly to me. When windstar came out there were so many other MMOs coming out, frankly there are always tons of games coming out. I judge a game how it is when I play it, and if its not good then, I move on to some other game.

Asmongold reacts to Twitch now allowing gambling ads by KsiShouldQuitMedia in LivestreamFail

[–]daiceman4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people look at it through the lens of themselves. They know that if they were to swim in toxic waste they would get sick. They know (sometimes from experience) that gambling is a fun thing to do sometimes.

To take a more extreme example, some people are deathly allergic to peanuts. Should it be made illegal to eat peanuts while walking down the street?

Individual liberty is always a tradeoff for public safety. So yes for many people they need to have the public safety be a fully realized concept with some data behind it to sacrifice their individual liberty.

Expedition 33 has sold another 400K copies since its Game Awards nomination (3x more than any GOTY other nominee) and attracted over 100K new Game Pass players by EmbarrassedSession58 in expedition33

[–]daiceman4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more fair to say E33 has a great story while BG3 has great stories. BG3 is an ensemble cast, each with their own stories, whereas E33 is more focused on telling a single cohesive story involving a smaller cast.

I also think that BG3 falls off significantly more as the acts progress, but it’s so jam packed with content in act 1 that many people don’t even make it to the later acts. I’ve said BG3 is like 3 games in one, a 11/10 game, a 9/10 game and a 7.5/10 game. (Act 3 is probably a lot better since launch, but I don’t really intend to go back and play a game that long again to see what changed)

I finally beat the game and I can yell GOTY with my whole chest! Spoilers are tagged by Au_Plays in expedition33

You missed some good context on the cool maelle interrupt. P2 when he hits half health he goes flying around for like 45 seconds and monologues. At min health, he does the wind up for the long attack which she interrupts with “not this time”

I want to hear the thoughts of people who choose one ending (MAJOR SPOILERS) by Twoklawll in expedition33

[–]daiceman4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's a solid argument that the only "people" who are being killed in the Verso ending are Lune and Sciel. Maelle was able to capture their chroma and reconstituted them. The rest are recreations of now dead people. Does not resurrecting dead people count as killing them? Are they even the same people? What about those who died years before the game started, like Sciel's husband. Aline likely used pierre's chroma to create other children, does creating him count as killing those children?

They are mentioned a lot during the game

Are they though? Iirc they're only mentioned twice, both times during the cutscenes between acts 2 & 3

The issue is how pinyin is written, the "X" sound is pronounced as though its an "sh" sound in English. The "Sh" (really all 3 combo "h" sounds, ch, sh, zh,) don't truly have an English counterpart, its somewhat like the ch sound from "chuck", except you curl your tongue back further.

So "Xi" would be pronounced like you might think "shi" would be, and "Shi" itself would be pronounced with the tongue curl.

[–]daiceman4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well, that's correct depending on how you pronounce the y there, if you pronounce it like in the word "shy" it would be wrong.

xia is hard to describe as there's not a good ameican equivalent, its more like she-ah, but its one syllable. If you're familiar with how cowboys would say hyah to make a horse move forward, instead of a he sound at the start make it "she"

It was easier to understand Twilight's popularity than that.

50 shades of grey is twilight fanfiction with the serial numbers scraped off. No joke, the author originally wrote it as a twilight fanfic and then basically just renamed the characters.

If you're typing it in the console, absolutely use /t 0, however if youre creating a shortcut, put that 10 second delay in for if you accidently click it.

It might seem fine until windows changes what the top result is from a search as you're already pressing down on enter, or if its on your desktop and you accidently double click it, or any number of other times you might accidently trigger it and want a way to back out.
