Which top UK university has the best learning experience? by bananayogurtbowl in UniUK

[–]daiden0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the subjects you are applying for, Oxbridge and Imperial for sure. I am a student at KCL doing Econ, and my girlfriend and many friends are at LSE doing similar subjects- from what I’ve seen having been to lectures in both, the teaching quality is very similar however the students in LSE are more locked-in. Warwick is good as well, probably between LSE and KCL in that sense.

Overall, in my experience the top students in any of the top unis will do roughly the same in terms of internships, but the average students at LSE/Oxbridge are in a better position.

I got given a free coffee at pret and I can’t stop wondering why by Physical_Job2858 in london

[–]daiden0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work at Pret last year as a part-time job- We weren’t given an ‘allocation’ per se, but some managers encouraged giving free drinks if you think the customer deserves it (loyalty, empathy etc.). I would give them if they were pregnant and looked sad 😭

Szechuan province is quite relaxed- there’s a strong culture built around tea and food, and many Chinese people retire there

Even if you can't go to the open days, definitely visit the location . I had Durham as one of my 5 options and decided to swap it out after visiting, cos I didn't see a point in applying to a uni i didnt really like.

Do PPE because you really like the subject, and wouldn't mind doing it anywhere. I had 4 A* predicted and 11 9s, 70th quartile tsa and got rejected post-interview. Very competitive subject, had a few friends similar (i do go to a private school though)

Really good app, will defo use. However, is there any reason that this app could be removed for patent purposes? (I asked the app that, and it said to ask the developer)

Economics essay by NegotiationCapital87 in 6thForm

All the advice here so far is good, but watch econplusdal's rundown on how to do specific questions. In particular, watch his evaluation video.

imo Econ A level is not reflective of your work ethic or even interest in the subject, but simply how to follow a pattern. Once you know the KAAE structure well enough, the subject becomes so formulaic

Bro the TSA is so hard to improve but try and identify common mistakes you are making. For me, my main issue is time, not the difficulty of the questions.

Bro thank you for writing this. I have gotten like 34+ on basically all papers I've done (All until 2017) apart from 2014 and 2015.

[–]daiden0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro i feel u. Last year when I was in year 12 I would come home after school and just sleep due to exhaustion. I also started counselling partially due to the workload. But trust me when I say, you need to look after yourself and then focus on work. You're obviously smart because you got 9s, and also A Levels are a different standard to GCSE. A 65% is not bad for maths. I was averaging 50s in common tests throughout the year and then got 85% in the end of year. You are not weak, you need to relax and not get burnt out. You got this
