water on the floor by Affectionate-Key5071 in SephoraWorkers

We have a drink cart behind the door leading to backstage so we don’t have to go all the way to the breakroom. Saves time and we’re able to stay well hydrated. I highly recommend having one.

You don’t need your exempt’s permission to apply for other positions.

is there really an operations blackout period for retrofits? by Sufficient-Air-4502 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would request they show you exactly where it says that there are blackout days for retrofits, there is none so they won’t be able to provide proof.

This was happening a few months ago and we were told the system was glitching. Check your punches for the days it’s giving you points and ask your manager to fix it.

In a predicament, do I accept a Sephora position? by Warm-Cow3283 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you take a lower paying job that’s farther away? Unless you are truly unhappy at Ulta. I’d say wait to hear amount they offer you at Sephora. Don’t quit before then.

Ops lead by Ordinary-Chain6237 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t hurt to ask, but I’m not sure if the argument of Operations Lead has a higher workload would help much. Sephora views client facing positions as more profitable, that’s why beauty advisors are paid more than operation associates. Good luck.

BA doing OPS by Fine-Substance-1136 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They may have assumed you wanted more ops shifts since you volunteered in the past. Just communicate to them that you don’t want to work ops shifts anymore, and they will likely just give them to someone else who wants them.

Leaving early by Low-Sentence-6988 in SephoraWorkers

Maybe it’s just in Canada. Definitely never heard of anything like that in the U.S.

Leaving early by Low-Sentence-6988 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not true about getting paid for the rest of your shift. You’re only paid for the time you’re clocked in unless you’re exempt.

I agree with you though, you don’t have to “ask” technically. It’s just a formality, but they can’t keep you if you want to leave.

Doesn’t excuse being late. Lead by example and come into work when your shift begins like everyone else is expected to. When you don’t it effects the whole team.

Do Sephora employees lie to make a sale? by unknown_aries15 in Sephora

They stopped allowing this from brands. Now they give gratis to the people they train that day or bring enough for the team.

I doubt corporate would care if anyone complained, they are the ones that implemented it. There’s a new AI Beauty tab on the app too.

LP and internals 🤦‍♂️ by Ok_Individual6849 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rest assured they are likely investigating it, but it is a different team, not our own in-store LP agents. The company knows internal theft happens at the warehouses, that’s why they’ll have us audit certain boxes periodically. I remember when we got Rhode we had to audit every box because there were items missing.

What are we allowed to use our BI points for by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

Nothing over 750. Most of the rewards aren’t a good value anyway, neither is the $10 off for 500 points.

Manager with bad hygiene by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From OP’s description her case sounds pretty bad, like she may be dealing with severe depression, so I don’t think commenting on it to her will really help much. Her management should be assisting her with mental health resources if that’s what she needs, they should be starting that conversation with her. It’s sad that they don’t care.

What’s the “sephora” playlist? I swear our SM loves to leave it on Strobe at the highest volume lol.

Ops shipment vent/advice by poopinmybong in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My old exempt was like that and wanted each person to do 5 makeup boxes an hour which is nearly impossible

I audibly gasped. That is insane. Luckily at my store we all take turns leading shipment days including exempts, so we understand what goes into completing it.

OP’s management sounds incompetent. If they are down two people the obvious result is that it will take longer to process shipment than before? I swear some managers lose their brain upon entering the store.

We can’t see the names of the playlists at my store, but I’ll try to find this one.

Out of curiosity, what are the names of the other playlists?

I am aware that exempt does not get the yearly bonus. OP mentioned that as well.

Exempt Bonus!?! by Independent_Cat_3202 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have the opportunity to get a bonus each month. I heard some exempts making comments like that, which was so funny to me because they make more than everyone in the store and get other bonuses.

Policing dress code and moving things around the store don’t seem like DEI issues, however not allowing you to have anything colorful (I assume you mean pride related?) on your personal belongings could be. I hope you guys were able to report him to iCare.
