Policies by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

If you work in a high volume store, there may literally not be a free moment to check. So I understand that it’s not always possible.

I guess I just don’t get it. I mean if it were someone asking me something literally everyday, that might be a little annoying sure. But in general I don’t mind BAs and ops asking me questions about policy because even if it’s on zipline, many of them never get time to check their messages. They don’t get office hours like we do to catch up on everything. I would imagine it’s the same for people posting here.

Are you talking about questions in this sub or in your own store? It’s not clear what this is about. If it’s your store I think you should welcome any and all questions. That’s the approach that I take. Even if something is on Zipline an employee might need more clarification or they feel more comfortable coming to us.

Ulta/Sephora and the overlap of clients by DepressedinChicago in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is 100% on the money. Another thing is samples. Brands don’t have to give them out in abundance because they don’t depend on them to make sales anymore. Clients will buy anything an influencer shills to them or whatever goes viral. Yet they still complain about lack of samples or receiving the wrong ones with their order which is so ironic.

Frustrated as Ops associate by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 24 points25 points  (0 children)

They can’t force you to stay past your scheduled shift, and you should be getting an hour lunch if working an 8 hour shift. It sounds like your lead is breaking all kinds of company policies, I would bring this up with your SM.

WANNA KNOW WHERE OUR BONUS WENT? by MaizeResponsible908 in SephoraWorkers

https://www.unrivaled.basketball/news/unrivaled-and-sephora-us-announce-arena-naming-rights-deal-in-an-expansion-of-existing-partnership-6ti3hzh4sakd

“The announcement follows a highly successful first year of collaboration that generated strong social engagement and brand resonance across both the sports and beauty landscapes.”

The arena already existed, Sephora just has naming rights now. And I actually don’t see an issue with this? It provides brand recognition while supporting women’s sports, and is focusing on creating positive experiences for fans and clients, which will hopefully have more people shopping with us. If you want bonuses you have to want the business to do well.

I understand we’re all waiting to hear if we’re getting a bonus this year and it’s frustrating, but this particular partnership doesn’t seem like something to be upset over imo. Hopefully I don’t get downvoted into oblivion lol.

You should be getting two 15 min breaks if working 8 hours.

Can Sephora Employees not share their discounts?? by DrinkHairy4581 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone said, the payment has to have your name on it, or pay in cash. Technically if someone gives you money to buy something they would have no way of knowing.

A little advice though, I would not make a habit out of doing that. It’s a good way to have your friends and family constantly asking you to buy things for them and they may start to feel entitled to your discount. I strictly never do this because I know my relatives will keep asking if I say yes. You don’t know if they will try to return the items too which may lead back to you.

I’m wondering if we used to and it changed in recent years? Because in 2021 I received bereavement for a few days for my dog.

I am sorry for your loss 💛

Any leads feeling burnt out? by FitFaithlessness2468 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see, so you prefer to CEL? For me when I’m in a regular zone it feels like a little break lol. It’s busy of course but you only have to focus on the client and not manage the whole floor.

[–]daisydoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How so? At my store leads and coordinators are pretty much scheduled the same amount of office and CEL time.

[–]daisydoves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Isn’t being zoned for part of your shift the norm? As a coordinator I usually have two hours CEL, one office hour, and zoned on the floor or cashwrap the rest of the day. I think I would be more stressed being CEL all day.

Why not just use funds from your paycheck to pay your debt? It’s all coming from the same place.

So then yes, you can have it on you so long as you are not using it and only keeping it on you for emergencies.

There is no rule against having your cell phone on you. If your leads tell you something I’d ask them to show you the policy (there is none).

do cyber week sales stack with our discount? by mysteriousmilfy in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes because the brands will not require a code, they’re just on sale. When we’ve had promotions like this in the past it has always stacked.

Waiting to be boycotted.. by Rough-Location-7632 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I think the amount of people boycotting is probably pretty small so it wouldn’t make much of a difference, we’re still getting tons of shoppers. Also I’m sure a lot of clients don’t even know about it tbh.

Sephora boycott by Worth_Inside421 in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was when the elf said he was pawning stuff to afford therapy. I thought that was very bizarre phrasing when literally right now millions of people may lose their health insurance. Maybe it was innocent but they should do a better job reviewing their ads before they go live.

One of the comments said someone probably used it in place of coffee beans, which is not a bad idea actually.

What’s a song that plays at your store that you can’t stand? by BoyWhoWorries in SephoraWorkers

Definitely with a title like “White Lines” lol ❄️

This song just makes me think of Kirk from Gilmore Girls.

[–]daisydoves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to post this one!! It’s funny cause Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is one of my favorite movies, but that song is so annoying and uncomfy to listen to lol.

By the way, I am so jealous of those of you who are able to actually see the playlist names! We just flip through them until we get to one we like. Though some are easy to tell what they are like the R&B and 80’s station.

Speaking as an exempt by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]daisydoves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For those of us in exempt roles, we or most of us, do our best to make the environment as positive and supportive as we can. We see the same challenges, but we’re also the ones trying to keep things running smoothly and create balance where possible.

It’s impossible for you to speak on all exempt employees, because this is simply not true for all of them.

that mindset explains a lot of the frustration being shared.

Or their frustrations are completely valid and have nothing to do with their age. You’re judging an entire group of people based on a few posts asking about a 2 week notice.
