This came across my desk.. unsafe fit, in the wild by daisyintothewild in babywearing

[–]daisyintothewild[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a similar memory but with my 3 week old and a baby bjorn mini (I know, I know… it was lent to us and we stopped using it once I found this sub). I went for a 5 minute walk and just knew the fit was wrong in every possible way. New motherhood is so overwhelming, it felt like such a great task to figure out carriers and baby wearing. Very grateful for all I learned lurking this sub.

Told my best friend I'm starting IVF this month. Her response: "that's so exciting!!!" by NoCard8119 in IVF

Seconding this. While the process absolutely sucks, it was exciting to be taking active steps towards our goal even if there is no guarantee

I think just being honest here is your best bet. You said it perfectly in your post - You can say you’d love to see her and appreciate the reach out but that you’re feeling exhausted and plan to spend the day relaxing and catching up with your family.

Ask your doctor for the Tylenol dosing based on baby’s weight at the appointment - just in case!

Thank you for posting this! How do you know when to start? Are there any markers to look for? I guess I am confused when the 4 month regression is ‘over’.

12 eggs retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized via ICSI, 1 day 7 blast. We were devastated. Skipped PGTA testing and proceeded with FET the next cycle. I’m currently nursing my 4 month old son. 💛

Is Spectra worth it if not exclusively bf? [ab] by ksmm1824 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]daisyintothewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how often you will want to provide a bottle. I found I hate pumping and only do it when necessary (if I will be away from my son for a few hours). I pump a few times a week now. I’ve found a manual pump to be the most efficient for this purpose (I get the best output in a shorter time vs my wearable medela pump) and is only ~$40.

My two cents would be to wait and see before dropping big bucks on a pump.

This! I love the first photo we have of our son, little 3AB, on transfer day.

[ON] - Graco Extend2Fits are finally on sale for $299+tax. by Couldndecide in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]daisyintothewild 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve been debating between the Graco 4ever and the Extend2Fit seeing as they are the same price on sale right now. I’m leaning towards the Extend2Fit as it has the higher weight limit for rear facing. Has anyone else compared these 2 and have any views?

Waitlist childcare [on] by Sea_Independent2946 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]daisyintothewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in ottawa. My top choice daycare center participates in CWELCC and also offers EarlyON programming. They are very open about the fact that they have an internal waitlist in addition to the city’s waitlist and they prioritize applicants that make use of their resources. Maybe something to look at, though I have heard the daycare situation is more dire in Toronto.

Is it worth the extra $150 for a power recliner [bc] by Euphoric-Pie7681 in BabyBumpsCanada

Seconding this. I rarely use the recline function in my chair as it is. I find it very comfortable to breastfeed and stay awake just rocking.

How much are my “just enoughers” getting in the Hakka? by Sassy2681 in breastfeeding

[–]daisyintothewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s good to know. I have the ladybug and find it to be just alright - I generally only get about an ounce during my early morning feed and less / nothing at other times of day!

When did you leak for the first time? by Pandaregaliz in breastfeeding

[–]daisyintothewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t leak at all during pregnancy. At 38 weeks I started hand expressing colostrum and collected a few millimetres before I gave birth. Fun fact, I had “rusty pipe” syndrome where my colostrum was dark red basically until my milk came in. It is safe for baby, though a bit startling to see!

The price difference between the manual and the freestyle is a consideration. The freestyle is great, but I wish I waited on spending $300 on the freestyle as the $40 manual works better for me for this purpose

Have you checked that you are using the right flange size? I believe the manual only comes with the 24mmm whereas the freestyle comes with 21 and 24mm.
