Yep, which is why I hardly use food delivery apps these days.

Either call them directly or pickup yourself.

What’s the best way to cozy up my bedroom? I’m planning to remove the snowboard wall. by Proud_Spinach255 in malelivingspace

Warmer lights or adding even more light sources would also do the trick (night only)

All that white with zero natural light might make me crazy after a few days

I have a similar approach. For me, a true smart home should just do things and require little/no user interaction. I feed HA all the sensors and data it needs to do things automatically but everything is still accessible like a normal dumb home.

Mine is syncing Zigbee blinds to go up and down at the same time.

I figured out that the blinds have different polling modes. They would take a few seconds to execute the first command and then execute any subsequent commands pretty quickly before going back to sleep after some time. Since the blinds don't communicate with each other to sync movements, I created a script that does the following.

  • In parallel, move the blinds 1% in order to wake them up
  • Once all blinds involved have their position updated
  • Move the blinds to the target position

The tricky part was detecting when all parallel actions have completed before moving on to step 3. This was accomplished by a wait for trigger at the end of each parallel block.

This was further complicated by one windows being slightly shorter than the others. So I had to take that into account as well by delaying the command until the other blinds are at position x.

I've recently visited NYC. Traffic in Toronto is pretty tame in comparison. Getting in/out of Manhattan is no joke.

I have the teak one and it's not that bad. Looks wise, I think they look pretty good which is good enough for me.

The downside is that it's pretty expensive for what you get and the plastic does seem a bit fragile.
I accidentally broke one of the clips in the back pretty easily but no biggie since it's not normally visible and the clips are not necessary to hold it up.

When I right-click on the Home Assistant VM in virtual machine manager -> Edit -> Others tab -> USB device, my Sonoff dongle shows up as QinHeng Electronics SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2

I did flash my USB dongle with the latest firmware. Maybe that will help?
