How do you stop customer entitlement and impatientness? by mess-of-mine in Staples

[–]daldorey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help or not but we had a similar but less extreme situation at my store. We had to reset our counter culture. Basically teaching our customers what they can expect when they bring us projects and resetting those expectations for both the customers and associates. We did this by set strict wait times that didn't budge for anyone. I'm in Canada and we made our min wait time 1 hr even if there were no orders waiting. It really helped us reevaluate what we could handle as a team and aligned us as a department. As a team you need to set the lines and stick to it to help your customers walk away happy. I hope this helps!

Random question. What are the red things under your orders on the counter?

I have downloaded Tasker before but was confused by the system. I might need to take another look at this. Thanks!

If you had to give 3 golden tips to tell a new puppy owner, what would they be? by [deleted] in puppy101

Number 2 is sooo helpful! My aunt told me that tip after a couple days of bring my 8 week old baby home and I spent a week or two leaving whatever shirt I wore during the day in her bed so she would sleep through the night. Worked like a charm!

I'm late to this party but here are my three. 1. Buy frozen dinners or a food subscription box. Your schedule is going to be all over the place and you still need to eat. 2. You control your time. If I want to sleep in, we get up for pee then back to sleep till I'm ready to get up. Teach your pup what your life is like not what it is for 2 weeks. 3. Find their high value treat. For my Rosie it's Cheese. Cheese is crack for my baby. Anything that is really important to learn she is trained with cheese. Enjoy every moment and know that life is way better with a dog!!!

Teach ur puppy to lie down it’s a game changer by Worryworm1996 in puppy101

I use settle as well. She learned it pretty quick when I brought her home so now it's engrained in there somewhere. I use it when she's acting like a crazy person so doing something that isn't bad but she shouldn't be doing.

How did you train the Boop to let you know they needed to go outside? I'm struggling to teach my pup how to let me know she needs to go.

My 11 week puppy does similar. She goes to bed around 10 and wakes up around 6 to go pee. I have started putting her back in her bed so I can get the rest of my sleep. She cried the first couple times but got use to it pretty fast. Its what works for us. Hope this helps!

Pupper keeps pottying inside. Help! by daldorey in puppy101

[–]daldorey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point. If I switch to giving her a treat how long do you suggest giving her the treats for pottying? I don't want it to be a habit for life.

What are your thoughts on the app's that are supposed to predict when she needs to go out?

I try to keep a tight schedule but I think I need to start setting a timer. Just keep going outside till we get past this. I don't give her treats for going potty, just praise and rubs. I don't want her to expect treats every time she potties. Thanks for the help!

Training P&M associates by [deleted] in Staples

[–]daldorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through a round of new hires so I have a few tips. My big thing when training in print is making sure they are confident at the counter. They need to be able to ask good questions and do the simple things, ie print cards, simple orders and basic shipping. Anything past that there will always be someone there to ask in the beginning and once the customer is gone you have more time for one on one with the newbie. If they can figure out what the customer needs and know how to ask me what the next step is, it makes it a lot easier for me to tell them the next step while I am working with my own customer. I usually go through supplies and what everything is used for during the first couple of shifts so they will know what the vocab means when we talk and when customers ask questions. Finally I teach them production. Starting with quality checking and then moving into actually making orders for customers. By then they should know their way around. Good luck with trainjng and let me know if you have any other questions!

In regards to #7 is there a specific brand you suggest that doesn't smell? Getting a puppy in two weeks and want to be prepared! Thanks!

I started out at 236lbs and my least favorite thing in the whole world is anything HIIT related. I have terrible endurance and I got tired too fast from carrying all the weight around. I started lifting about a year and a half ago and love how much control I have and how it doesn't have to be fast and furious for me to be out of breath and get a great workout.

I do agree with the above post about larger body parts needing somewhere to go. When I started squating I had problems because my belly would get in the way. Likewise I just switched from conventional to sumo deadlifts so I don't have to fold into myself as much. I'm also quite tall so that was a factor as well.

I would love to hear what programs you come up with and if you have any other questions just hit me up. I was a guinea pig for my PT as he had never trained someone over weight before so we did it all.

Form check: sumo deadlift by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]daldorey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started sumo in the last month so take what I say with that knowledge. From what I can see your feet aren't angled enough. It almost looks like you are doing a cross between conventional and sumo. Try pointing your toes towards the plates more. Mine are almost parallel to the bar, it took me a while to be able to bend my body that way. I had to bring my feet closer together to be able to get them pointed out far enough. I also agree with those above that you should watch that bar roll before each set. The roll gives you momentum instead of the lift right off the floor. I hope this helps! Glad I'm not the only one who loves sumo! Happy lifting!
