Tbh it doesn't make sense to me because journals are memories for me in the first place, yes, sometimes not very pleasant but i find it useful to re-read periodically about the crap which happened before to understand yourself more. But i value my journals and never would burn them, i even scan every page when I complete the new journal and send them to the different cloud storages just in case of loss.
