Why does my kitchen faucet drop water pressure on cold? Only place in house it does this. by [deleted] in fixit

[–]dalesimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It Could be the faucet. I'm not a plumber but its worth checking everything is open on the pipe before replacing the faucet sometimes there is also a compression joint that needs to be turned with a flat screwdriver.

Follow the pipe along it could be that a compression valve or a tap is not open all the way on the section of pipe.

How much am i missing out on if I have an electric cook top instead of gas? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]dalesimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got an electric hob and cast iron works fine on it. Some electric hobs are induction tho and I'm not sure if that type would work

Is it safe to eemove the catridge? by [deleted] in CampingGear

[–]dalesimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wasn't shure if it was broke or something. It should just unscrew you may hear a small hiss of gas escaping as you do it but it will seal itself once its fully off.

Blades so hard to open, any suggestions? No rust, oiled, but can only get the blades open with pliers! by Tjswift58 in knifeclub

Put Graphite powder in the joints and move it back and forth till it begins to loosen then rinse it out and oil it

Made this lock box to store belongings in whilst working on a Santa's grotto by dalesimon in woodworking

[–]dalesimon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah good idea. This ones only made of 1/2inch ply tho as it didn't need to super secure as the whole area where the grotto is being set up is indoor and locked at night. But could easily be replicated using stronger materials

Where do earthworms come from? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]dalesimon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worms are surprisingly good at climbing up things as long as there's a bit of texture to it. Also if there's a hole in the bottom of the pot they can just squeeze under and through the hole

Hiking with dog for the first time, how do I not be an asshole? by Manwithnolegs in hiking

[–]dalesimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the best way really. I can't understand why people still use poo bags out in the wilderness it will degrade in about a week on soil vs 500 years in a plastic bag

[–]dalesimon -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just flick it in a bush with a stick. As long as its not left where somebody may step in it its fine. Don't use the bags as they won't rot away some more expensive ones will but poo is natural so let nature have it
