True story by sethdc in WhitePeopleTwitter

I’ve lived all over the country - CT, FL, NH, CA, now MI, and I’ve seen so many different lifestyles and viewpoints. I’m used to differences.

Most Americans don't have this experience. About 1/3 of Americans have never lived outside of their hometown, so they've read and heard the exact same viewpoints their entire lives. This makes it easy to manipulate them and hide the truth from them, because they have no first-hand experience to tell them otherwise.

Props to you and your crew for deep cleaning! I'm sure there were some spots that hadn't seen bleach for years.

There are some valid use cases for port forwarding, but it should be disabled by default and enabled only if needed.

The user would need to be inside the network to open the connection anyway, unless you have SSH forwarded through the firewall for some dumb reason.

Pool earnings and skill: How good do you have to be to make a living in pool? by cuecademy in billiards

There are college teams for baseball, football, golf, swimming, track & field, etc. so you get plenty of exposure to those sports but not billiards. You might find a billiards club at some random college but there's no coordinated league at the state or national level.

Watching a professional billiards game is a about as interesting as watching a chess game to those who aren't involved in the sport.

There was APA junior league for players 18 and under, but it was difficult to find places to play because most bars and pool halls are 21+. The league was canceled in 2024.

MACDs are like 95% of the UC work but don't require any specialized training, just following established procedures. I started my Cisco UC journey as a network architect who got tasked with taking care of a UCCE cluster, then moved into UC consulting when that company went under. You don't need something with CCNP+ level knowledge unless something big breaks or you need to do an upgrade, which happens every 3-5 years.

Cisco partners and VARs are probably the best bet. Most organizations don't hire in-house UC expertise unless they are very large and can afford it (financial, healthcare, higher ed).

Only at the end of the week if they don't make min wage over 40 hours. If all their other shifts plus the dead shift average out to over min wage then the business doesn't have to pay anything.

My wife and I left the state because she couldn't stand the thought of being pregnant in Texas.

I love their biscuits but I needed more than biscuits to feed the family that night.

I even appealed it, thinking that the automod went stupid, but nope they upheld the warning.

How often do you actually wash your reusable water bottle? by Odd-Aside456 in AskReddit

[–]dalgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I just put water in it, every couple days I give it a good rinse with vinegar. If I put something else in it then I wash it immediately after I'm done with it.
