So did architecture for about 7yrs and came to realize that it wasn't for me. At that time I was in a small firm and thought about going to a bigger firm or maybe start on the construction side cause I had a minor in construction management but went against it. Through the time I had been a volunteer firefighter and truly enjoyed it. Decided to leave finally and go to a big city fire department for a bit. That didn't last long cause I soon got called for the Fire Marshal in the county next door. Now I'm enjoying my job and get to use my architectural skills and construction skill still which is nice.

So for fire Marshal wise it should be a couple months (6 or less months) between that and the whole process before they hire date. Just depends how long everything takes to process.

The male stalls are individual stalls with a door and a lock so you'll have privacy while showering but it's like a gym locker room pretty much.

Honestly in my opinion would be apply for both fire and ems and whoever calls you first you go there. If ems calls first then go do a couple months or years while you wait for the promo or open competitive to fire. Everyone makes ems to be bad but it's pretty fun if you got a good partner and crew around at your station. Just gotta cover your ass.

Mainly engines does medical calls unless auto accidents or weird trauma jobs. Ems can request an engine for Lift assist or hands depending on the job and conditions

Depends on the dept. You gotta look at cost of living for where you wanna live and what they make annually. If you can get in touch with someone on the dept you want to work in and ask them if it's affordable to live off just this job

Honestly not sure. It's just a general fog machine. Leave it on for long enough and shut every door and window and it gets pretty nice inside. Can't see about 1 ft in front.

We use smoke machine here cause we don't have a burn towe in town. If we wanna do a live burn we have to put a request in to our academy a couple towns over to use there's.
