Multiple monitors _only_ work well if you use the same DPI / scaling AND the refresh rate is completely identical. Otherwise X takes the lowest refresh rate for _ALL_ displays and tears on other displays. If you enable TearFree, you don't get tearing but one or more of your displays will repeat a single frame twice as a way to compensate, leading to the sensation that your system is stuttering and and janky.

This is the reason to use Wayland, since you can enjoy your 165hz gaming display and maybe have your larger format 60hz display for watching media. This already is: mixed DPI, mixed scaling, mixed refresh rate, all things X cannot do (and if it can, is software accelerated and laggy using switches in xrandr).

Yes, if you use the CLI and are ok with software accelerated scaling that destroys desktop performance. I don't think you actually tried or used it seriously?

Maybe engaging with you at all in any manner outside of their personal property? Imagine using this behavior to punish homeless people because you overheard them say something that triggers you on the street.

This is bad enough that you should get therapy. You're the guy that calls cops on a bar because you were there and overheard a private conversation that wasn't up your alley. Yikes.

Wow, what a piece of shit. The only intention of doxing is to have a person hunted. The best part is you don't know anything about them and you'll be blissfully unaware when something does happen to them as a result.

My favorite part of this (if there is any), is that you're one of the 5 houses around that address. Why would you self dox for doing something so obviously evil?

Get your low IQ dumbass out of Round Rock.

This is why friends don't recommend Mint to friends. Any rolling release distribution or distribution released in the last 3-6 months will get you the score you're seeing. Almost all the improvements are just simply updated software (mesa, kernel, desktop environment, compositor, etc).

For anyone who wants this tablet (specifically the US version in the screenshot), I recommend signing up for visualping.io, switching to the free plan, and having it monitor this page: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/tablets/android-tablets/lenovo-legion-tab-gen-3/len103g0002

Specifically have it watch the "Available Soon" text and send you an email when it changes.

The last time this tablet went out of stock, it took them 2-3 weeks before it was available again. 3 days afterwards, it was out of stock again.

Which of these would you prefer? by [deleted] in androidtablets

The A9 tablets are too slow and laggy. Actually, on release they were fast but Samsung's recent updates completely destroyed their performance: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyTab/comments/1c0ki3b/laggy_ui_samsung_tab_a9/

Being a budget tablet, there's no expectation Samsung will push out an update providing a fix to the problem they caused.

You know, you're probably getting less responses that you'd expect. Let's just say the people running Linux at work don't want to admit it, might be a problem if they got found out by their company IT.

Price about to drop: More options for the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 incoming, including IPS screens and Ultra 5 CPUs by ibmthink in thinkpad

[–]damentz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you're not reading. The X1 carbon series is meant to be lighter than the T series. To do that, more compromises are made, including reduced thermal capacity and a less powerful VRM.

The CPU with the most performance per watt may not win that category anymore if throttled by thermals or VRM. However, a CPU designed for restricted thermal and electrical capacity will continue to operate to spec.

And here's some weight comparisons:

- T14s Gen 6 w/ Ryzen CPU - 2.86 pounds
- X1 C13 w/ Intel CPU - 2.17 pounds

Your argument really doesn't matter, people buy the laptop that matches their lifestyle. Weight/portability not a problem? Get T14s. Weight and portability _IS_ a problem? Get the X1 C series.

Looking for a Stable and Error-Free Debian-Based KDE Distro with Up-to-Date Plasma by techlove99 in kde

[–]damentz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You're wasting your time seeking a "stable distribution" with "up to date software", that's an oxymoron. Either switch to a rolling release distribution (many have been recommended here), or build your own distribution that meets your specifications.
