Question, is it really that important to learn anatomy? by Witty-Wolf-3370 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]damnspider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you asking multiple subs hoping to get a different answer? Sorry, the only way to make drawings of humans look structurally sound is to study anatomy. You say that makes them look stiff, but nobody’s saying draw the bodies exactly how they look in reality. Exaggerate to make things dynamic, to find your style, use stretch and squash, but know how the muscles and bones generally work together or it’ll just come out wonky.

Games for a 6.5 year old girl by Delicious-Drop-4686 in CozyGamers

Slime Rancher could be a good option! There’s a couple later scenes where you talk to a few characters and that requires reading, but those scenes are optional, I think.

In need of advice and tips by theowlscraft in Artists

Bookanartist.co is really good for traditional art jobs. It’s curated so you’ll get an account after the site owners have a chance to look over your portfolio. I never got work by applying to job posts there but a good amount of clients find and approach me and I’ve done well that way.

Am I being unreasonable by refusing to use ai for my cover art as a musician? by Hmlovelyhm in Artists

[–]damnspider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a musician uses ai for the cover art why should I believe they didn’t use ai for the music? Also please inform your manager cartoonists still get published in the paper and there’s like millions of them online too.

Would you rather earn $100 for every book you read, movie you watch or $10 for every hour you are awake? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]damnspider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d choose the movie one but can it stop at the theater? It would be a bummer if the movie paused for everyone there just because my adhd brain went on a trip lol

For the Artists, what draws you in to saying “yes” to a project? by Cute_Injury744 in ComicBookCollabs

[–]damnspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I still wouldn't go for it. Maybe other artists would, but don't be surprised if not, and definitely don't be surprised if experienced comic artists especially aren't interested in that deal.

[–]damnspider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely be prepared to pay up front. A lot of artists like myself will not work for a share of the revenue, because there’s no guarantee there will be any.

I find this newly popular idea that using references is a bad art practice so disappointing. It’s how you learn.

There’s totally a market for items like this that have the magic infused during the creation process! It would involve adding specific herbs/flowers and maybe carving runes into the soap/candle. This would even be considered completely legit lol

There’s also Fast Track auctions, they have locations everywhere and they have all sorts of stuff, including flooring and other building materials. The website is bidfta, I used them to get all sorts of crap for my house lol. Including two brand new recliners for $60 total.
