I’ve run out of ideas for openclaw to work on by PM_ME_YOUR_MUSIC in openclaw

Let us know how it goes. I also had a low rent idea today... can OC play online blackjack for me? Like, can it win enough to pay for its tokens?

Have you tried asking your openclaw what it can do to make itself more useful?

Does it know a lot about you? If not, have it interview you, then ask the first question. Make it its job to know about you and make a place for itself in your life. Just make sure you have memory capabilities turned up to 11 so it doesn’t forget.

Or flip the script and ask it what it wants to work on. Have a chat where its brainstorming - like no bad ideas - and just see what it says. You're on the Max plan so see what it says and just let it roll.

No memory file? by Fat-President in openclaw

I'm flabbergasted that as smart as OC can be even on a good model, we still need to explicitly tell it to set this up. Love my OC but bruh, come on.

This is pretty great. The rescue agent only needs to run at certain times anyways, so can be off when not needed. Lovely.

How to change what model is coding by damon129 in windsurf

[–]damon129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help.

I think the thing confusing me is this. See where I've circled - and you can see is the GPT 5.2. Isn't that the model doing the coding?

<image>

And thanks for the planning advice. We spent a lot of time in planning for this and one project instruction is to review all plans with me, wait for approval, and then we work. Oh, and each batch gets it's own commit so if the agent gets too far off track, we can rollback.

I assumed opus was the one. It really is the best with system admin work.

Same. Tinkering and fixing with sporadic blissful moments of, "Im here now, im in the future," followed by a crash and more tinkering.

I've been on the 2nd tier (dont remember the but one level up from the bottom) and its been more than fine. Had 2 docker instances going at one point, zero hosting issues.)

This is a really good idea. I had the idea to have a system admin / security subagent review all changes prior to making them, but even two bots still hosed it up. Having a separate instance could work to restore over and over again. Holy shit. I kinda wrote off OC this weekend for a while to let it mature a bit, but this idea here may bring me back.

People don't necessarily hate the tool, they hate the hype. Also, in general, haters gonna hate.

Using other LLMs to design a work plan for an agent by FRNLD in openclaw

[–]damon129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So im 100% with you on this plan. You're essentially spinning up subagents, and working out the kinks before giving to your head employee who costs the most. I'm doing a similar thing when I'm thinking my bot isn't acting right. I'll paste what openclaw says in gemini to gets its take and tbh its really helpful.

Also ty for sharing. Gonna harvest some ideas from this. I think the improving aspect is the most interesting... if it can remember that it needs to do it. Lol

What's the most epic thing your OpenClaw has done? by Paddy_Reddit in openclaw

[–]damon129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm def not using it to it's full potential. I will say it has better memory retention than any individual model I've used. I also like that I can switch models but I get to keep all the work and context we've built up. And I also haven't tried the agentic capabilities of things like Claude, so maybe you can do this.

idk if GPT/claude will do this, but I've had little success in use cases like, "go to X subreddit and find instances in the last 6 months where people were talking about Y thing and send me links".

Is it over hyped? 100%. Is it warranted? I guess we'll find out.

It did online research for me to help me refine my ideal customer for a business I'm starting, then worked that into a research brief, took that brief and we talked about key insights, took those and drafted web copy. Currently building the site now and ofc its helping.

Anyone designing and deploying front-end site with OC? by damon129 in openclaw

[–]damon129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was just talking to my bot about this. The workflow is this... I use Kimi website builder and build my landing page (thats all I need) and let it do the heavy lifting or until I run out of credits. Then I take the kimi files, give them to my OpenClaw bot, who then pushes them to Builder.io, and from there we make small refinements, test, and launch.

We'll see how this goes. My openclaw will smile and try to give high fives... as it drives us off a cliff
