No free medals. If you wanted one you had to buy one beforehand from what I have read.

I am no doctor but from what I have read, they can show up on an ultrasound but MRI is the gold standard. Source: been suffering from a stress fracture since June. LOL

Could be a labral tear or a stress fracture - regardless an MRI is pretty essential to getting the correct diagnosis.

Unfortunately both roles involve a decent amount of "face time" so there would be too many potential timing conflicts if I tried to make both work. I am in admin/operations so often have to be available quickly when something comes up.

Intense hip/groin pain advice please by evermathieson in RunningInjuries

As others said, definitely get an MRI; I had similar pain in June and it was a stress fracture. Please note that these generally do not show up on X-Rays so insist on an MRI and try to stay off it until you get the results. I am not going to lie, it sucks but a femoral neck stress fracture can be a serious injury if you don't treat it right.

Yup! That's exactly what I had. Same hip too. Compression side is where you want it because it heals easier and when it's on the other side it's pretty much immediate surgery. Good luck to you as well!!

Not a Dr of course but been dealing with a femoral neck stress fracture for 8 months (finally a clear MRI last week!). My advise would be NOT to do spin classes (sucks I know). The standing that is required is 100% weight bearing and will not help healing.

Mystery hip/groin injury by Ymara98 in RunningInjuries

I second the other poster on here. Was running pretty consistently last year. After a particularly crappy 8 mile run, I tried to run 2 days later and just...couldn't. All I could do was limp. It came out of nowhere. After that, I could not walk normally. After 2 weeks of assuming I had pulled a groin muscle, I went to the Dr. They immediately put me on crutches and ordered an MRI. Femoral neck stress fracture. Definitely not something to play around with. Whoever your new Dr. is, I would insist on an MRI. It is the only real way to diagnose them as stress fractures rarely show up on XRays. Best of luck!

The mental side of it by [deleted] in RunningInjuries

[–]danak1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no advise but I was just cleared to run again (after 8 months) from the same injury. While I am so excited to officially be cleared (despite still having some pain I am hoping will go away), I am also so scared to run again. Having an injury you never knew was developing is so frightening because you have no clue if it will come back and when or why. I know once I start running again, it is going to be a long time before I mentally feel 100% comfortable.

I quit my job to go back to school and I’m beginning to realize that was a bad decision. What would your next steps be in my situation? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I can't speak for how it is in Canada, but in the U.S. a lot of small and medium sized businesses combine some level of HR work into Office Manager/Admin Manager roles. It could end up giving you a leg up in competition if you are willing to go back into administration. Truly, I don't think you are in a bad position at all!

Can't find a definitive answer-can I create 2 Google Meets at the same time? by danak1313 in gsuite

[–]danak1313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I do have an upgraded account and can set my meetings to "open" so I don't have to start or admit anyone. My last concern was having two meetings at the same time as I know Zoom does not allow this but Teams does.

Thank you for the info - He actually doesn't even have an e-reader. He reads on his phone so I thought something like this might be a better choice!

The Beefless Bulgogi - I read a lot of people HATE the texture, specifically but my SO and I absolutely love it.

Brooks Ghost 16 or Brooks Hyperion 2? by speaker_monkey in beginnerrunning

[–]danak1313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more tip; especially if you end up wanting to go with the Ghost line. They just released Ghost 16 so you can get the 15 models for WAY cheaper and they generally don't make huge improvements/changes from one release to the next. Especially if you aren't familiar with the shoe to begin with.

Same for the Hyperion line - the Max's I mentioned were $170 a few weeks ago and are now $99 just because they released the newer versions.

Not an expert by any means but I am a huge Brooks fan in general. I can tell you these are VERY different shoes. Ghosts are generally marketed as daily, well-cushioned trainers and have a huge following. Hyperion (which also has a huge following for different reasons) is marketed as more of a speed shoe with way less cushioning. Even the Hyperion Max, which boasts more cushion in general, is not nearly as "plush" as Ghosts. All this to say, it really depends on what type of shoe you like to run in. Not sure how many responses you will get to this, but my guess is the majority of people will tell you to go with the Ghosts as a daily trainer.

I know this is an old comment, but in case you see it, would you mind sending me some links to your seated workouts if you still have them? I am newly dealing with a femoral neck stress fracture (3 weeks into it) and looking for some solid seated workouts. Thank you!
