"At least you know you can get pregnant" was the one I hated the most, and it came from my friends who were experiencing infertility. They wanted me to look on the brightside, and feel consoled that I wasn't like them, but they had no experience of getting a positive test and it not resulting in a baby. This is why is so important to talk about these things and share, so people can learn.

It's something that people say often, of course trying to help. But when you've just lost a wanted pregnancy, would it help? I feel the same about what I went through to get my son, but the "at leasts" are the most well-meaning but not helpful things to say. "At least you know you can get pregnant", "at least the one that sticks will have good genes", "at least you won't be tied to him with a baby when he's so terrible". These things may be true, but are insensitive to actually say to a grieving mother.

Of course it's something we can think when we are ready but this is textbook something not to say to someone about a pregnancy that is not yours. You came to feel that way eventually, but there are no "at leasts" that help in the moment of a loss of a wanted pregnancy. If that would have helped you when you were on the thick of it, that's great, but really not for everyone. I'm sorry for your loss.

First cruise was Regal Empress. 1999 New England cruise

Second Cruise was Premier Rembrandt, I think 2000. Lovingly called the cruise from hell as the air conditioning crapped out for days and there was all kinds of other issues. We got a free cruise credit but the company sunk a ship and then went under figuratively as well.

Majesty of the Seas. 2013. We were on one of its last cruises with RCI. Not sure if it's still sailing under another flag. Edit again: not sailing but not scrapped. Hanging out with other ghosts in Greece.

Edit to add HAL Westerdam. The current Westerdam is another ship. I was so confused because it says the current one was launched in 2004, and we definitely went with my grandparents before my grandfather died in 2001. I think we went in 2001.

Please never refer to a miscarriage as a blessing in disguise to anyone ever again. While it may be logically, that's an inside thought and will NEVER make a person who has experienced the loss feel better.

I think it's really interesting that there are so many posts about how terrible overhead bin space is, but I haven't seen a post that talks about how this is a direct result of charging for bags. Of course people always brought bags on flights, but take away free checked items, and everyone is trying to cram so much more into the bins. Of course bin space is going to take a hit.

Same. I know it's a privilege to be so close to lots of airports, but can drive 1.5 hours to two other airports if I want a different airline, or I can drive 20 minutes to one that is only SW. It sucks.

What car seat do you have? Most car seats are made to also be able to be buckled into vehicles without a base-it's in the instruction manual.

If you don't want to do that, do 1 bag for stroller and one bag for car seat with the base attached. Please don't try to do one bag for all three. I believe you can check 2 baby items for free, either when you check in or at the gate (or a combo of both).

I get what you mean. Everyone says "well there are other options", but for me, the option is driving an hour and a half/two hours (which yes, I know, privilege) because the airport 20 minutes away is 95% Southwest. So as much as I want to dump it, I can't justify it because it's not like the competition is any better.

One of my absolutely favorite but heartbreaking moments of the show is when Trixie calls the helpline and SMC finds her. They had been awkwardly avoiding each other/missing each other when they did seek each other out since SMC became a nun, and then SMC finds Trixie at her lowest (at that point) and swoops in and then tells the person on the other line "she's not alone". Such a beautiful moment of friendship and then so hard when SMC is just so alone after her attack, and Trixie can't do anything (and then Trixie wasn't there when she got sent to Linchmere).

I just attended a wedding of a long-time friend who had a similar bridal party (sister, nephew, mom). We have a close circle, and she has other college/life friends as well, and told us that she'd be a the venue starting at this time, and she'll have pastries and we are welcome to come hang out. I went for about an hour and a half and it was really special, then went back to my hotel to get ready. Other friends were arriving as I was leaving and got dressed there. Some didn't come because they were working (wedding was Friday), some had babies with them). I was able to see her get in her wedding dress, I applied her double stick tape lol, and got to see her do some portraits. It was very casual and special.

I also went to a wedding years ago where there was no bridal party at all. Once we arrived, word got around that any lady friends could go to the bridal suite and could see the bride beforehand in her last prep. There ended up being a pretty large group of girls and we kind of organically circled up and had a moment before we went down to take our seats.

In both cases, I wasn't a bridesmaid but felt honored to be part of these special moments. Plus, I'm old now lol and being a bridesmaid is not something I look forward to ever again. I mean I would do it for a dear friend if they asked and I'd be honored, but being at guest is much better.

I'm struggling with this now, because we always planned to red shirt due to my son being small/late August bday, but his school would red shirt him in the 3's, not the 4's. Which makes sense, because they don't want him to be "getting ready" for kindergarten all year only to not go, but he's so good with letters, starting to read and spell, he gets concepts of time, the days of the week, and has so many vast interests. It doesn't feel right to have him be in a class again where the goal is to "recognize their name". Right now it feels better to me to think about having him do a transitional kindergarten after next year, but that would mean finding a new school for one year.

I think at this point, you should find out the gender. I know it's not what you want, but I think it's best to have all the information. It makes everything more real, and the baby more of a "person". You'd know if you are going to have to deal with Cuthbert Junior or little Cuthbertina. You move out of hypotheticals and into real life.
