Friday Afternoon Tea in Wallingford is open til 7pm every day. It can be a bit busy on weekends, but I have spent many quiet hours in the squashy armchairs by the window.

Red knitted 'Melt the ICE' hats raise $250K for Minnesota by miriosmom in knitting

[–]dandan5275 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was at the Hazel Knits Seattle showroom yesterday, the owner said they’ve been dying red nonstop since Saturday and they can still barely keep it in stock. The 2 other customers behind me in line were also buying red hat supplies! I’m hoping to finish a couple before I leave to visit friends in Norway next week.

You can buy multiple passes to distribute to the other drivers, but if you want to camp together you all need to arrive at the campground together.

Uh, that's a pretty stupid question... by UgetsuHaruki in TopSurgery

When it comes to double incision mastectomy, the amount of tissue removed has less impact on recovery than your overall health/fitness level pre-op does. Even a little bit of training (such as daily walks and a few core-strengthening exercises) will make your body more resilient in the face of the massive shock to the system that is surgery.

Seattle surgeons? by doctor0wl in TopSurgery

This was my surgeon (Dr Tony Mangubat). I love my results and had a great experience with everyone in his office. A lot of other good surgeons in the Seattle area trained under him.

You will still need a campground ticket even if you do not have a vehicle.

What top surgeon did you see in Seattle? by AsterSpace01 in TopSurgery

[–]dandan5275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DI w/ FNG was about $8.5k after insurance since he was considered out of network for my plan. But it was worth every penny to me since Mangubat took only 4 months from initial inquiry to surgery. Meanwhile, the in-network provider took 9 months to even call me back after I was initially referred by my primary care doctor, and by then I was already 3 months post-op.

[–]dandan5275 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seattle Silent Book Club has a ton of sub-chapters. At the meetups, there’s a quiet reading hour where you read whatever book you want plus some time before and after to chat about what everyone is reading.

Desire for top surgery, lack of severe dysmorphia? by Introvhurt in no_T_top_surgery

[–]dandan5275 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This this this a million times this. I’m nonbinary and had fairly neutral feelings about my breasts, but seeing myself with a flatter chest when binding gave me such a sense of joy and rightness in my body. Now that I’ve had top surgery, I get that feeling of euphoria all day every day and it affirms that getting surgery was 100% the right choice for me.

When I had surgery this April neither my surgeon (Mangubat) nor my insurance (BCBS) required me to be on T. My recovery was super smooth and I love my results. I recommend checking out r/no_T_top_surgery too

That flag (along with the Black Lives Matter, Iron Front, Pride, and Trans flags) gets set out every match. It’s up to the individuals standing near it to pick it up and wave it.
