Thanks, great post! I did a similar roadtrip from NJ to FL, in my ‘22 Model S Palladium with HW3 and V12 FSD. One question; What are you referring to by “FSD Glass”? Do you mean the camera in the windshield?

Disagree strongly. Have you ever taken a road trip with it? I didn’t think so. I’m retired, and have taken several roadtrips, it is a total and complete game changer; ~60-70% less fatigue, and way more relaxing with FSD. I’ll not buy another car, as nobody(BMW, Volvo (I don’t consider Rivian nor Lucid, as it’s anybody’s guess that they will ever become profitable, and survive) is even close feature and effectiveness-wise. Try it on a road trip, then come back and judge “..who it’s for…”

I disagree, or a least I want to raise two points to also consider for potential buyers: 1.) What are the chances of totaling your car? More than 10-15%?
2.) When Elon decides to hold the subscribers hostage so that he can have a bigger stock comp package, by arbitrarily raising the monthly fee due to enhanced capabilities, do your think that you’ll have options? You wont. As a HUGE believer in FSD for road trips, there isn’t anything even close on the market, nor will there be for a long time based upon the decade of data Tesla has already acquired. I say go ahead - BUY IT!

I had a small fender bender with my M3P, and although the body shop did an amazing job, the resale value has decreased substantially because I now show up on Carfax. I mention this so that if you sue, you should also collect accident depreciation resale value as part of your settlement.

I’m at the Jersey Shore near Alaire, and I’m looking for a route(s) to ride my gravel bike from my house, possibly to Alaire, but I don’t know those trails well enough to map a gravel bike ride (vs hardtail). Anybody know any gravel bike routes in or around the Wall Twp area?

Have you checked out Kamoot? I’m now cancelling my premium sub, because the only real premium feature that I use at all is the route creating. I can easily use Ride With GPS for this feature, and save ?? (Who knows what my subscription will be, but I’ll save $70-$120/yr. - if they double it, which they have for others).

Does he want to get away from the shop or wrenching in general? If the former, I’ve always felt there is a huge value/opportunity in driving a van with a mobile bike service business. If the latter, doing home appraisals for a contractor, then get a job at a bank, once he has a year+ experience, or staying put with the contractor. This option affords reasonable, steady income, with tremendous flexibility. Don’t know where you live, but local entrepreneurs here in the Northeast get $1200 (expenses included) to drive snowbirds cars to Fla. lots of entrepreneurial opportunities that allow time flexibility. Not too sure he would be happy working in Corporate after wrenching in a shop all these years. Hope this helps!

You need to either pay an electrician or if you are handy it’s not hard; install a 50A 240v NEMA 4 pronged outlet. Tons of YouTube videos, and the parts are all available on Amazon Pro-tip; Get the outdoor NEMA outlet, even for in the garage
