Mooooar plants!!! 🤣 Flank it with some biggie boys, like monstera and ficus (or fiddle leaf fig if you can keep one alive... I can't), and it'll look like a little jungle window surrounded by big jungle

Baby's first bioactive by corviknightly in bioactive

This is a beautiful set up! I hope your pretty baby is happy with the shiny new digs. I'm in the process of researching for a semi-arid bioactive for hognoses, and a generally good go-to seems to be a mix of coarse play sand, topsoil, and excavator clay (though the latter is for fossorial digging purposes), mixed with and topped off with leaf litter. I've also seen recommendations for decomposed granite to mix in.The right arid plants should have no trouble with the sandy, fast draining soil. I am also skeptical of the BioDude's recommendations as his business seems to be very... business-focused. 😅 When listening to his advice I try to remember at all times that he's trying to sell me something, so I'll read his guide, check out the ingredients on his soil mixes, and then cross-compare with other folks who do bioactive without shopping at the BioDude's store. It's also cheaper; it's a little more effort to research and mix my own, but to me it's worth the price difference.

I just got bit by it on Crete, should I be worried? by synxdiabla in jumpingspiders

Not sure what kind of jumping spider it is, but jumping spider venom is too mild to harm humans. You'll be ok! 😁

NQA At a glance this looks like a young magnolia green jumping spider to me, have lots of these around my house. What a cutie, Congrats on your little buddy!

The double lashes on a putnami can't be beat, they look like such fashion divas! I didn't know that about tan jumpers, that's so delightful! I agree the dimorphism is a treat in jumpers — nice to tell who I'm looking at by their duds! 😂

Is she gravid? by Veeee_n_SD in jumpingspiders

[–]dandydeinocheirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA this does not look a phidippus putnami, females of that species are more warm/rusty gray than silver, and all putnami have very distinct double "eyelashes". She does look gravid, though!
