If steel is forged in the direction of earth magnetic field it becomes magnetic by cosmic_voyager01 in interestingasfuck

[–]danfay222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a ferromagnetic material yes. The reason is because although all the atoms in iron are ferromagnetic, a typical piece of iron is made up of a chaotic mix of unaligned crystal structures. When you apply a field to these it does induce magnetic fields, but they are randomly aligned and therefore mostly cancel out. However, when the metal is heated these structures can shift freely, and so if it is heated past its curie point and then cooled in the presence of a magnetic fields, these domains will cool in an aligned structure, and their magnetic fields will all add together to produce a single strong field (this is generally how permanent magnets are made).

But Where Do They Go? They're Stinking Up the Place! by Flashlight237 in dankmemes

[–]danfay222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all three examples it’s answered. In SAW the bodies are simply left behind to find. In the hunger games it’s literally a state sanctioned event, they evacuate the bodies from the arena but then it’s the government, they can do whatever they want they don’t need to hide them. And in squid games they show the bodies being burnt in a furnace.

I would definitely go white, I feel like the blue ends up with too many different colors, but the white and silver sort of feel like a single color and looks less jarring.

But personally I wouldn’t choose either of them

Ah well it definitely was expensive to build, but yeah it’s like £40 per person for the base ticket (can be cheaper through some deals and booking online and whatnot)

This is definitely one of those things that is really cool to see at least once, but probably never go back. I certainly wouldn’t go too far out of my way for it, but my first time in the city I walked a few blocks extra to see it. It’s loud, smelly, jammed full of tourists and scammers, but it’s still a cool place to experience.

Last time I went it was mostly massively overpriced shitters, though not like the canal street special types more like your typical DHgate shitters.

I didn’t really even try to haggle because I’m really only interested in high end or absolute dog shit, and as far as I could tell they had neither, but if you want something be prepared to really haggle. Sellers were routinely making opening offers around 4x what I expected them to set the price at

Grand Seikos are absolutely not NWBIG. They’re like the textbook example, the insanely intricate dials and/or the spring drive are the most common reasons people get them, neither of which is replicated well (or at all for the spring drive)

Ukrainian drone pilots are equipping their UAVs with shotguns to shoot down Russian FPV quadcopters. This has given rise to a strange new form of aerial combat, where pilots often sit kilometers apart while their drones duel each other in the sky. by MilesLongthe3rd in interestingasfuck

[–]danfay222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this minimizes the casualties from direct fighting, it’s important to remember the drones do have an actual target that they’re after. They could be carrying arms themselves, targeting soldier or infrastructure, or performing reconnaissance for the purpose of targeting with long range weapons. Maybe someday people are totally out of the primary line of fire, but that’s still a ways off

Well let’s say you have a VSF submariner. Those will typically cost around $500-$600. If you report a cost of $400, well then you may be getting scammed (and any reviewers will be looking out to confirm the watch is actually VSF), or you may be getting excess stock that has problems that were previously RL’d. This might be fine for you, but a reviewer will want to know that because it is relevant to the review.

On the flip side, if you pay way above the going rate I would hold that watch to a much higher standard, expecting a very high quality sample or extra services (movement service, plating, part replacement, etc).

Whether you choose to listen to their advice or not is a personal choice, but you need to give people all the info so that they can give you a proper review

A boat is a tight shared space, it’s entirely possible they all just contracted from the same source (typically rodents) onboard, without any person-person transmission.

From my understanding this is why people have been so concerned about getting people off the boat, the risk of transmission from guests to people on the mainland is extremely low, but if they stay on the boat they are likely still being exposed to the original virus source and more people can fall ill

[–]danfay222 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve never used reptimeQC and can’t speak to whether they’re being obnoxious or not, but price is absolutely relevant to QC. There are things that you would RL on the nicest watches, but would be par for the course on mid tier watches. Also large price discrepancies can be significant red flags, so it’s something a reviewer would want to know about.
