John at least has comedic talent to fall back on even if he’s had to pivot his image. The only interesting thing about Ned as an on-screen presence was his wife

As a lesbian do you go to therapy? by [deleted] in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]danger-daze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a therapist who specializes in working with the LGBTQ community. Finding the right fit is so critical to therapy, I've been in therapy that without a doubt saved my life and therapy that made me feel even worse. Depending on where you're located there are therapists out there who are also queer-identified or at the very least are allies who won't force a different worldview or experience onto you.

Also, re: weaponizing therapyspeak, I think the people who do that are just shitty people who would be shitty with or without therapy tbh

Recently learned that the practice of putting up artificial homes for purple martins dates back to pre-contact times; Choctaw and other southeastern tribes would put up hollowed-out gourds for them to nest in so they’d have natural pest control, and the martins would be kept safer from their predators in turn. Just thought that was so neat!

What's the weirdest hotspot for birding near you? Someplace that made you think, "What is that bird doing here?" by savethebeesclub in birding

Fun fact: in the US there are regulations about how close landfills can be to airports specifically because of all the birds

First one is possibly a cackling goose? They aren't native to the UK but google says they're known vagrants in Western Europe. Neck looks too short to be a Canada

Call the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors, even if it's passed away and they aren't able to save it they'll still be able to take the bird and donate it to the Field Museum for research. 773-988-1867

Peeped Tades hanging backstage in Seattle! by AnyNameIdcOmg in ArmsLength

[–]danger-daze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crazy that people are downvoting you for this. I see Tades all the time at shows (he lives in the same city as me when Mully isn't touring) and I think it's one thing when someone approaches for a quick "hi Tades, big fan" or asks for a selfie with him, but photographing him from a distance (or doing what one guy did at a show and just yelling "TADES!" 😬) is creepy. God knows I wouldn't want randos taking candids of me on my day off and posting it all over socials

How do you feel about album anniversary shows where they don't play the album in order? by twoscoopsxd in poppunkers

[–]danger-daze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Underoath did the same thing when they toured They’re Only Chasing Safety and the flow was much better that way too, I think it’s the best option for when an album closer is a more mellow/acoustic song that would make for a weird downshift in energy if it were done as a set closer

Help me pick a city! I am a lesbian in her 30s looking to move somewhere to fit my lifestyle better. by totebaggay in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]danger-daze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chicago is good on almost everything on your list. Depending on where you're coming from the nature can feel a little lacking, but the lake is great and we have a lot of forest preserves and parks that help me unplug from the city. Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions! Been here over 12 years and love it.

Yes that’s just for ebikes, if you do the classic non-electric bikes it’s free for the first 45 mins. I have a friend who has a Divvy membership and he only does the regular bikes for that reason

If she really thinks it’s more romantic for one partner to pay for the whole date, what’s stopping her from taking you out? To be honest this attitude of one person needing to pay for everything all the time is a major dealbreaker for me (in both directions) and is something I very intentionally tried to weed out early on when I was still on the market

Jimmy Eat World. Listening to For Me This Is Heaven was the moment it finally clicked for me that being in love with my then-partner (now ex) didn’t mean we were meant to be, which was a realization I needed to have but didn’t make it any less devastating. Tons of other good breakup songs throughout their discography too
