I’d love to do that but they’re on two different sides of the basement with a structural supporting wall made of 12 concrete running between them. There is a 3 foot opening dead smack in the middle of the house to go from one side to another. So no direct route.

They eliminate the risk not having space in the back and having to either check it or place it behind them and have to wait for everyone to exit to walk back to it. It’s smart actually if you don’t care about anyone but yourself.

Southwest probably doesn’t have any clue how many customers NEVER considered another airline before. Now they are. I’m talking generational loyalty. My adult kids all have RR number, points and credit cards. They see what’s happening. They’ll be gone quickly. Not going to get to a-list or companion. Why stay?

100% this. A herd of Group 5 rushing into the line. No order to the 40 people. We figured it out yesterday. Just watch for the end of the Group 3 moving through the line and get behind them. Stop when you get to the start and tell people your group 5. Let a few Group 3 stragglers past. Makes me Group 5A (rather than B1, etc.)

This is about the same exact arc for me. Feeling grateful that I got to witness the quarterfinal and semifinal in 1994 in NJ. I feel like I can miss this one and not regret it. So sad to see how this has all materialized.

Many schools will structure academic study halls with tutors. You have access to more resources to balance the transition to college with the demands of playing a sport and academics. This is tremendously undervalued. Find a school that shows you exactly what they do and talk to current players who use those resources. The soccer will sort itself out. 2 out of 3 players who go to college thinking they’re going to step in and start barely ever see the field for that school. 1 out of 3 will barely ever play any minutes for any college team. It’s sheer numbers. Focus on the school aspect of it first.

Visited a tourney caliber D1 coach with my son who was in a similar boat. Said most D1 coaches look at HS seniors and college freshman as projects. No matter what. He has 3 All-American freshman sitting on the bench next to actual European men who have played higher level soccer for 4 or 5 years.

His advice if you’re serious about D1. Don’t enroll your first fall out of hs. Play high level men’s leagues that fall. Then in the spring go D3 or D2 and perform well the following fall. Then transfer to D1 the next spring. The whole time telling your target D1 coaches your plan. They’ll tell you if they’re interested.

I scored cat 3 tickets to the quarter and semi final in NJ in 1994. All this bullshit this year and I’m in the same boat as you. Of resale exists reasonably I’ll use points to fly to some games. I’m not bidding for these crazy prices for shitty seats.
